some seem ok with DJ getting 15 carries and 15 catches - and he is great and is built for that - I still think the coaching staff play caller - namely Bruce Arians is stupid for only having 16 rushes in his last playoff loss - compared to 40 passes - yes I'm pissed cause no cardinal player, media, coach or owner mentioned edgerine james in that fits legacy article on the main site - the whole team laid eggs until edge regained the starting role and gave us enough rushing to execute play action. After securing our first Super Bowl appearance And run game was used less than any in history, and we lost. Passing-alone has never won in the NFL.

Compare DJs panther loss to our pathetic 10 rushing attempts to lose the 08 Super Bowl, but never seen anybody but me complain that we had the lowest amount of rush attempts in the modern era - in any game much less the super bowl. Ken Whisenhunt still hasn't watched that loss and deserves to be out of coaching.

This has something to do with not running the ball enough.

FYI - In 2017, the highest rush attempts per game was 21.8 by L.Bell of Pittsbugh. This was up from 2016 when Adrian Peterson topped the league with 20.4 per game, and we the only player to top 20 attempts per game. In 2015, DeMarco Murry averaged 24.5 attempts per game, but the next player was Adrian Foster at 20 per game, and those were the only two that topped 20 attempts per game. 2010 was the last year where more than 5 players averaged 20 or more rushing attempts per game.

Thus for 10 years in this league, 10 rush attempts are 1/2 of what a star running back gets in a game. You find yourself down 14+ points going into the second half of the game, and 10 rush attempts is pretty standard.

Get pissed, get angry, get however you want, but it is a normal occurrence.

Our offense was built around the passing game for a long time. DJ's emergence has obviously altered the front office's philosophies. The draft is a perfect example. Our new rosters will be built around an athletic and versatile defense, and a strong running game centered around David Johnson. Brown and Nelson are deep threats off of play action. I hope our third round pick will develop into another target over the middle to add to Gresham and Fitz. I'm excited for the direction our team is going and getting tired of all the negativity around here.

He got injured very early in the last game too so it was really 293 attempts in 15 games = 19.533/game.

2015 when we made it to the playoffs we had 452 rush attempts to 562 pass attempts.

2016 had 399 rushes to 646 passes and never got close to the playoffs -

As a team not just DJ which he did phenomenal as a dual threat - passing 2-1 got kurt killed and palmer hurt - and wasted the defensive effort - Im Glad we are not last in rushing like under whisenhunt -

Would not be behind 40 points look at the 09 packers playoff game - we were ahead 3 scores running beanie - before we got into the best pass fest ever and defense won it in overtime! Pass game has much higher risk - like a 99 yard interception return to end the first half of a super bowl that we only rushed 10 times in- or passing on the goal line instead of handing it to beast mode like stupid hawks did
