I was disappointed in his take, which I read as if the Suns are in the top three don't take Ball, but if the Suns are in the 4-6 range it would be OK. Really?
Its kind of odd. If they like Jackson or Tatum at 1-3, one will probably be there at 4-6.

I get wanting to lose intentionally, but this statement is so wrong.

I don't know... Sounds extreme but I'm digging the attitude on this one. We need to get RUTHLESS about tanking. It's a messy messy business...There will be casualties!

So one argument is to tank to get as high as you can. The other argument is to not worry about it because the draft is deep and you will get a good player anyway. Obviously you have more power the higher you are at in the draft trade wise. Bottom line is identifying who fits your system best and trade for that guy. I just like the higher pick because you get more ping pong balls to not only have a chance to move up, but to have more ammo to hold onto your pick, too!

We are so close to the end of the season and still have the third worst record. I'd like for the suns to maintain that if possible. I'd put Brandon in the starting lineup and sit Bledsoe. This might be the only time we get any value out of Knight. I don't care how it looks or who's feelings get hurt. We want a high a pick as possible because kinda like you were saying...It gives us more options.

Even with Bledsoe out it's still not a lock but I think we now have a very good chance of holding on to the 3rd spot. Several teams that have already been labeled as tankers really haven't been trying to lose but the lottery chaser group should start increasing pretty soon. There will probably be 10 of us in a week or two as the playoff picture begins to solidify.

I remember a long time ago, maybe early nineties, everyone on the team went through cases of "back spasms." Maybe it's time for some of our guys to get back spasms, again?

I knew it!

Brandon Knight, who hasn’t appeared since the All-Star break as the Suns shifted to a younger lineup, was asked to play as backup to Ulis but said he had back spasms, leading to Ronnie Price’s first extended action. Knight had missed three games this year but due to a right wrist injury.

The good old Suns back spasms are back! A great excuse because how do you prove a guy does NOT have back spasms. I am thinking this was a Proske invention!

You hook him up to the Spasometer and if he scores a 7.3 or below, he's good to go. Seriously, no one told you?

Devin Booker plays a ridiculous amount of minutes even for someone young, Suns should start resting him in certain games like the Nets or Magic.

Off topic but isn't it funny how that in seasons in which the Suns actually try to win, they get killed by injuries and then the seasons in which we're actually trying to tank, only our tanktastic players like Len get injured and everyone else is almost perfectly healthy? That's called worst luck ever.

Yeah ironic indeed. Plus where is Knight...On suicide watch? Every other post I'm clamoring for him to get minutes...Booker's minutes!

Watson said a few weeks ago that he was sitting Knight and Chandler for the rest of the season unless the front office tells him otherwise. Tonight, when we needed him to backup Ulis, he claimed to have an injury. I think that says it all, he's done in Phoenix no matter what. Or, he's really injured and this is all just one huge coincidence.

Thanks for the update. I was really clueless about Knights situation. I guess I'll shut up about him now that I know that.

At least Bledsoe is done for the season (but not in a bad way). Like you said prior it will probably solidify our 3rd spot somewhat which feels good to me. Now I have much higher hopes for the suns in a top five pick which I would consider a success.

Checking the schedule... looks like besides playing us the Magic has to play the Nets (twice) ... Sixers... Bulls... and Pistons (twice).

The 76ers have to play the Nets (twice) ... Bulls (twice) ... Mavs ... Magic... Bucks... Knicks.

We play Magic...Pistons ....Heat .... Nets... Mavs....Kings. Then we got tough ones like the Thunder and Warriors!

I think they have the easier schedule...they both still have to play the Nets twice and each other as well.

He has been playing a ton over the last 5 games or so, but he is still only averaging about 34 minutes for the season. Which is a pretty reasonable number.

For several years now, the minutes played per game has been trending downwards. Right now, the minutes hogs usually top out around 37 per game. A decade ago that would have been closer to 42 minutes per.

Booker's minutes put him near the 20th highest in the league, not alarming by any means, but as a second year player who put in very little time on the court in college, it seems higher than necessary. He played a lot of minutes for a rookie last season and he's already well past his total from 2016. For someone that draws so much defensive attention, fresh legs are a necessity IMO.

Looking at tankathon gives me a good pickup everyday when I think about AZ sports. Seeing us in 3rd place, with the chance to compete for winning something valuable is exciting. I just hope we can find a way to "Win" our next matchup against Orlando otherwise that could swing us from 3rd to 4th quick at the end of the year.

I like my idea. You relegate teams to the D league! Tank one year, it happens. Tank several years in a row like Philadelphia, oops, now you are in the D League and have to play your way back in. Of course no Billionaire owner would ever go for this. It would be fun though.
