I haven't seen the Spurs lately, but a lot will depend on whether Duncan is even close to being 100%. It may be wishful thinking, but I think the Nuggets match up better against the Spurs than do against the Suns. It may not be enough, but I think they have a chance.

Well, it's nice to see that the officiating hasn't changed at all now that the playoffs have arrived.

I don't even care who wins any more, I'm just hoping they finish up quick so I can watch the Suns. I get the feeling it won't happen, though.

I've been saying I felt the Nuggets had a shot. They match up much better against the Spurs than they do against the Suns, especially when Duncan isn't 100%.

I still think SA will win in 7, but that has more to do with the experience than anything.

I guess it is the same logic (that hurts as a Suns fan) that people use against us in a possible WCF matchup.

I also think that whoever wins that series gets a near automatic bid into the WCF. So I am definitely pulling for Denver :p

Spurs had ZERO field goal in 10mins? Holy. I though they got some shooters this year???

Oh well, go Nuggets. I don't like Nuggets but I sure hope they can beat Spurs! Muahahahahahahahaa.

Spurs kicking ass in Game 2 - looks like Denver was just happy to get one - wrong attitude. Spurs in 6 - wouldn't be surprised to see them back door sweep either.

Spurs up 24 at the end of the third quarter.

I hope the Nuggets don't cut into the lead at all: maybe I'll get to see the beginning of the Suns game.

I can't stand watching SA play. Whenever they play i want them to lose. I think this is because they are so damn good at making the game so painful to watch... well, they make the opposition painful to watch. Denver couldn't buy anything in game 3.

Nugs can win game 4, if they'd hit a freakin freethrow!!!

This game was there for the Nuggets to take it but they played like they didn't want it. I guess they're happy with what they've accomplished and are ready to go on vacation. Man, one defensive lapse after another...

Nice mugging by Carmelo and the gang on Ginobilli. Frustration sets in and now you get to sit for a game.

What a ********.

The Nuggets simply aren't good enough to beat the Spurs. Their half-court offense is too weak--the Spurs have strangled them the same way they strangled K-Mart's last team, the Nets. The Nuggets are starting to have trouble getting even bad shots on a consistent basis--by the end of the series, they'll have trouble scoring 70 a game.

The first half of game 1 was the real anomoly, because Andre Miller couldn't miss. Since then, the Spurs have been in control on that end--the only thing they have to worry about is if they miss another 20 shots in a row. Tonight's probably the Nuggets' best chance to extend the series to six games...

Can we beat the Spurs without getting hot for 4 games?

Well, by the standard the Nuggets have shown in this series, the Suns are "hot" 24/7/365. :p

Seriously, the Suns have as good a chance as any team against the Spurs. This same team lost a playoff series to the Lakers last year, remember--another team with an unstoppable offense and mediocre defense. ;)

Shooting stats tell a lot.

Game 1

Nuggets 41.5%
Spurs 42.0 %

Game 2

Nuggets 36%
Spurs 47.9%

Game 3

Spurs 38.3%
Nuggets 40.8

On a season basis, the Nuggets averaged 45.9% shooting and allowed 44.7% shooting. So except for game 2, the Nuggets have played pretty good defense but the Spurs defense has completely shut the Nuggets down.

Is it just me or is this series spread put more than any other playoff series? What a strange coincidence considering Duncan's ailing ankle.......
