If the Cards can pull off the win this weekend, which is 50/50 in my mind, we could be sitting with the early division lead.

SF seems to be reeling, and somewhat imploding. It is one thing to get killed by the seachickens, but then to blame each other in the media etc. That does nothing to help them in the future. I cannot see the Cards doing that under Whiz....ever. Now they have New Orleans, and should struggle.

Seattle will be interesting in Denver, I predict that last week was a fluke and eventually Matt will get hurt and they will be in trouble.

We win and come home for Oakland and we may just seperate ourselves from the pack early. Which is good because the middle of the schedule is tough IMO.

A win against the Falcons will be the biggest upset of the week if we put it off and will show everyone we're back. Matt Ryan only has one loss at the Georgia Dome. Here's hoping we can make it 2.

Everyone will take notice of AZ if we pull off the W.

We have had non losing season three years in a row. Been to a Superbowl and are 4-2 in the playoffs the last two years and they still don't notice us. 2-0 wont change that. JMO.

This is basically a 'must win' for the Falcons. They are desperate, they are at home and they cant afford to start 0-2 while the Saints go 2-0. I hope beyond hope for a win but I see us losing (I dont say that as a knock on our Cards, just my gut feeling) and I'm not going to freak out about it if we do.. Atlanta is a good team.

I'll say this if we can win this game our team is off to a scary good start all things considered.

I think atlantas kind of overrated. I herd ESPN saying they could win the division over new orleans, thats crazy.

They have a decent QB whos nothing special just a good game manager.

Decent run game that the cards shouldnt have a huge problem stopping.

mediocre recievers.

and a defense that i could name maybe 2 players on?

What makes this team good, honestly i really dont know??

Hey Bert: I believe that fact that Atlanta will view this as a 'must win', will play right into our hands. We should come into this game with not a care in the world-----and play comfortable and loose. It is almost a certainty that DA will NOT be as bad as he was last week. Our whole team, knows that we literally WILLED a win out of last week against a decent Rams performance. That kind of mentality can go far on the road. In fact it is an absolute necessity, (and our guys in red HAVE IT). It is also true that the odds are stacking up against the black birds----so who knows-----the table may be set for us to steal one on the road. Hey we won ugly on the road last week----maybe we will administer a whuppin' quite prettily this week. Go RED BIRDS !!!!!

That's right, hell we could make it to the superbowl, and all they will talk about is how Saints, Packers, Vikings, Cowboys, all just blew the year. We all know if we win the division it's only because it is the NFC West. Screw the media. Maybe the no respect card will be in effect again this year.

This. :D

I'm not sure how Cat can say that Derek Anderson will be better when he's going against a more talented defense with a better pass rush and better cornerbacks, and without a QB who will hand the ball back to him in good field position most of the game.

I have no idea if the Falcons will come out tight, but I do know that Michael Turner isn't a scrub; the Steelers' defense at home is just really good. Hopefully we'll continue to build on our success at containing the league's marquee runners while also figuring out why scrubs have 100 yard days against us.

Also, Tony Gonzales has to be excited to get matched up against Adrian Wilson. If we're going to run out the three-safety base defense, this would be the game to do it. Let Kerry Rhodes erase Tony Gonzales from the game.

We are winning this game. The Falcons are TERRIBLY overrated.

They're probably overrated as a Top 10 team (I think that the QB situation in the NFL is so bad that a lot of the national media are trying to will Matt Ryan [and Mark Sanchez, for that matter] into being above-average QBs), but I'm not sure that the Cards are so underrated right now that this matchup is even.

To win in the NFL you have to have a great pass rusher, an above-average quarterback, a solid corner, and a good left tackle. If Matt Ryan is who people think he is, than the Falcons can have a pretty good team, because they have the other pieces in place.

On the other hand, you have a very shaky quarterback in Anderson coming into a hostile environment. Derek Anderson's QB rating was 20 points lower on the road than at home in his Pro Bowl season. That's good news for the Raider game, but not great news for this Sunday.

I think our D will keep us in the game, at least for a while. IMO it all comes down to Anderson. If he plays like he did this week, we will lose big. If he has one of those special performances that he is capable of pulling out a couple times a season, we might just have a shot.

If we cut down on penalties, turnovers, and Beanie is healthy, it would help our chances too. Is that too much to ask?

I just hope this isn't like the Titans game last year. I went into that game fully expecting to lose. Then the Cards gave me hope that we might pull it out, only to lose a heartbreaker on the last play. Long story short, I had to buy a new remote and I don't want to replace my new Logitc Harmony this early in the season.

I agree that Anderson will have to be more efficient, but if I'm building the game plan, I'm putting it on Beanie and Timmy. The interior of the Falcons defense remains suspect. Beanie should be able to plow into that line for a 4.5 YPC average. The DTs for the Rams were at least talented veterans for the most part. With Babineaux out the Falcons move Jamaal Anderson inside frequently. We should have a big advantage there.

Sorry I beg to differ with your classification of the falcons recievers. They have 3 OUTSTANDING wide recievers as they were when matty "ice" started with this team and his first throw was a long TD to one of his speed burners AND then you have to mention a HOF tight end who is still playing at a very High level and can run wide reciever routes as HE OWNS THE SEAM ROUTES STILL with great hands.

The running back is as good a speed pounder in the league in "burner" Turner the bowling ball.It took a SB winning Steeler defense playing like they have'nt in 2 years playing Big at home to slow this Stud down.

It will take the utmost and our highest play level not to get doubled up in this game.I want a WIN as much as anyone living does but Whiz has his work cut out for him this week to play at playoff level in week 2 while it being an Early East Coast game to boot.

We'll need Beanie and everyone playing twice as well as they did last week to win this GIANT game for the falcons. It CAN be done.We will need to own the middle of the field throws as Dixon of the steelers focused on last week and hope for tons of RAC.Use ALL of our weapons and maybe a trick play thrown in too.The falcons also are sporting a starting rookie LB they are counting on Bigtime with the addition of Peterson from Indy as a LB also who is very good.

Lenon will have to match peterson in tackles this game.Plus a bigger game from our OLB'S this week than last as Porter will need a sack and some great play as I think Haggins is gonna want to makeup for his last week play.Dockett & Campbell will need to deliver a pounding to Turner and Watson will need to be active for this game if his ankle is healed. The falcons offensive line is one of the best lighter zone blocking lines like those of the Old Bronco's past and will be a major challenge.

A close win awesome battle or we get doubled up is my prediction.

I've got Atlanta winning that division. The only hope I have for the Cards this week is it seems like we've had their number lately (if memory serves...I haven't looked up the last few years' record against them) and I think ATL might over look us.

There’s something missing with Matt Ryan. I think he’s good, but really needs some help for Roddy White. Ryan shouldn’t have to throw to him 23 times to White. Lock down White and we stand a pretty good shot at winning the game.

Doug, I like the Falcons, but Mike Jenkins is just shy of a garbage WR. He should be good, but his carrer single-season high for yards is like 675 and he scored one TD last year. That's not "OUTSTANDING".
