I gotta say that I'm not real impressed with Poteat's numbers. He is also another short CB.

Sorry, but you're high as a kite.

Nice one Stout. How long did it take you to come up with that?
If you feel someone is way off base, I think you can do better than insinuating that the person is high.
I don't want to sound like a goodie-goodie, but have some class when you disagree with someone.

I'll admit not being up to speed on who else around the league is good, washed up, "has issues" etc. But, in addition to Molden and Mar Tat, the following guys now available caught my eye:
- Ray Ferraro DT Giants
- Jeff (?) Romberg C
- BJ Tucker CB
- Chris Combs DT Jax
- Marco Coleman DE
- Ike Charleton CB Jax (At least he can tackle)
- Neil O Donnel QB (Regardless of how good McCown and Parsons looked - he's proved he can win)
- Grant Irons DE
- Bromell DE Vikes
- Tallman Gardner WR
Aside from the obvious issues of injuries, character and chemicals - the criterion for bringing in a guy should be: If we replace someone we've got with the new guy, does it result in a net benefit to the team - short term (if we're backed into a corner) or long term (normally a more important concern)?
Specifically - Would Combs or Ferrara be an improvement over Davis or Tanner? Would Molden or Tucker be an improvement over Eason? Is it more important that Coleman help us now than Dennis Johnson possibly helping us in a year or 2? Is it more important that O Donnel help us now than it is that Parsons might help us later? And if we're bringing in someone to help us solve a short term problem, will there be a learning curve that delays their ability to help us - and how does that compare with keeping the guy we've already got who's comfortable within our system?
Just guessing, but I think it's easier for us fans to know when a potential pickup flat-out sucks than it is for us to assess how a decent player might fit into our system or whether there were extenuating circumstances on his previous team - that's for Graves, Mac & Co. to determine.
