The NFC West is all but locked up. So what is left to play for?
1. #3 Seed – We are currently the #3 seed but the Cowboys and Eagles are hot on the trail with the same exact record of 8-4. #3 seed can mean the difference of a home game or a road game in the NFC championship game depending on how the games play out. #3 seed can mean the difference in either going to the Vikings or Saints in round 2. #3 seed can mean the difference in getting the Eagles or the Packers in round 1.
2. #2 Seed and a bye in the playoffs – 4 games left with the Vikings having a 2 game lead. Not out of the realm of possibility to beat them for the #2 seed with us having the tie breaker. Remaining teams the Cards play have a combined record of 15 and 32. Vikings remaining teams have a combined record of 26-22. There multiple scenarios that gets us the #2 seed.
Cards Go 4-0 and Vikings go 2-2.
Cards Go 3-1 and Vikings go 1-3.
Cards Go 2-2 and Vikings go 0-4.
Again it is not out of the realm of possibility to take the #2 seed away from the Vikings, especially considering the Vikings having the much harder schedule. Could come down to week 17 with us and the Vikings possibly playing two teams fighting for a last ditch effort to make the playoffs in the Packers and the Giants.
