The NFC West is all but locked up. So what is left to play for?

1. #3 Seed – We are currently the #3 seed but the Cowboys and Eagles are hot on the trail with the same exact record of 8-4. #3 seed can mean the difference of a home game or a road game in the NFC championship game depending on how the games play out. #3 seed can mean the difference in either going to the Vikings or Saints in round 2. #3 seed can mean the difference in getting the Eagles or the Packers in round 1.
2. #2 Seed and a bye in the playoffs – 4 games left with the Vikings having a 2 game lead. Not out of the realm of possibility to beat them for the #2 seed with us having the tie breaker. Remaining teams the Cards play have a combined record of 15 and 32. Vikings remaining teams have a combined record of 26-22. There multiple scenarios that gets us the #2 seed.
Cards Go 4-0 and Vikings go 2-2.
Cards Go 3-1 and Vikings go 1-3.
Cards Go 2-2 and Vikings go 0-4.
Again it is not out of the realm of possibility to take the #2 seed away from the Vikings, especially considering the Vikings having the much harder schedule. Could come down to week 17 with us and the Vikings possibly playing two teams fighting for a last ditch effort to make the playoffs in the Packers and the Giants.

Last year there was some talk about improving our seed after we clinched, but the guys played like they were very uninterested in doing so. I know we'll be psyched for the SF game, but I'm not sure about the rest if we clinch then. Thankfully, we do have the Lions and Rams, so that helps.

Personally I think the Titans loss made this scenario rather unlikely. Although it's still possible.

I'm not sure if that's a bad thing--that extra week off seems to hurt teams more than it helps.

I personally think the Vikings will lose to the Bengals this week, so if the Cards can take care of business in SanFran.. then i will be a 1 game lead with three to go...

@panthers- With the 49ers owning Carolina's 1st round pick, it would be doubly satisfying to see the upset, but I think the Vikes stop their 2 game skid.. though it is not exactly a gimme

@bears- Monday night football at solider field, ANYTHING can happend, again I think the Vikes SHOULD win, but it is anything but a gimme

That leaves the Giants.... I believe it will be a play in game for the Gmen, and I think they outplay the Vikings...

I think the Cards should/will go 4-0, and I think the Vikes could/will go 2-2...

Call it drinking the Kool-aid, but assuming the Cards take care of business I like their chances...

It will be interesting how we approach next Sunday's game with the 49ers. They always seem to be able to eat our lunch, hopefully, we can take care of business.

As long as we don't come out and play DOWN to the 9ers level. The key to the game is to keep trying to get better at what we do.Score points and shut people down to 3 and outs.

That being said we should not play around with the 9ers on Monday Night and just go about our business and not try to just hang around.Get it over by halftime like we've done many times this season. We are playing on a different level than they are on right now.

Yes the vikes without E.J. Henderson as the stud MLB leadership wise is gonna be a major find on how they rally.A giants team that is starting to get well in the run game could give them a game.I think the Bengals offensive line will dominate the vikes.I don't see them beating the Bengals next week.Especially if Benson is playing.Larry Johnson is good but not good enough alone to beat the vikes.Glad it will be inside the plastic bubble so good weather will also aid the Bengals.

I'd LOVE the 2nd seed.Lets see if these teams playing with perfect records can handle the pressure and it does'nt wear them out.The colts will have an easier time of it.They've been there.Saints have'nt.Its gonna be interesting to say the least.A team like philly could go into Nawlins and beat the saints and then we could end up playing the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game in ARIZONA ONCE AGAIN.Ya just never know.

They almost crowned the vikes and look what happened? I hope the saints believe the hype.Any other team playing thier A game could beat them. The skins missed a chipshot fg to give the game away yesterday.Yet thats only about the 5th team the saints played down too.

Just deciding to get ahead of myself here... but the Cards have a CHANCE to be the most reconizable great Superbowl winner of ALL TIME....

We match up well against the vikings, I think we beat them in the Playoffs...

I think both the Saints and the Colts will probably go undeafeated, so a win in the superdome against the saints (the one team IMO, the Cards match up against best) and then play the Colts in Miami for the Superbowl...

Just knock them off their perch and win the superbowl by beating two undeafted teams...

Seems simple enough... and pretty sure if they could possibly manage to pull that off, the disrespect card would go out the window....

just sayin...:D

This time last year was also the hardest part of the schedule. The last 4 games of this year are trips to SF and Detroit and then hosting the Rams and Packers.

Shut it down.
Still plenty of time for a sad and epic collapse.
Let's discuss in 3 weeks.

Well they haven't dominated us or anything but since Whisenhunt took over we are 2-3 against them...and last season they took us to the last play at home when we are clearly a better team.

They don't "eat our lunch" but they do play us tough and the games have mostly all been close over the last 5 years.

I think I want the #4. I think we are one of the few teams that matchup really well with the Saints.
