Josh will probably be the starter with Brad Johnson replacing him. Not very much to get excited about.

I'm betting the field - thinking outside the box I'm taking Navarre or a trade for Garrard, Nall or Rohan Davey.

I'll take the field too but with Holcome or Nall.

Nothing. He will have to be cut. However, I think that he works very well in Grudens offensive system. He's stunk it up for years. I think last year was a product of the system and coaching staff, not of the player.

I do not know that Navarre will start. It is doubtful he will but I still am of the opinion down the road this guy will be a starter.

I'd have given up Shelton. I'd give up Ray Thompson, James Hodgins and a 6th rounder. Maybe some other deals would work, too. But, the point is moot because as HeavyB3 pointed out, he'll probably be released. And, since that's the conventional thinking around the league, they probably won't be abl;e to get anything for him.

But, if they were willing to trade him for a reasonable price, as a fan I would hope the Cards would look into it.

:koolaid: :koolaid: ....It is really refreshing to see how after Dennis Green (as he did earlier back in January) expresses confidence in Josh McCown, there is a noticable silence from the Bash Brigade. The voting on this poll slowed to a crawl after DG was on the NFL channel "proping up" his Qb and again in todays paper. Billy the pirate had to bump his thread from all of the silence and until I chimed in this thread was headed to die a gnarly death....watch it take off now  PS can anyone here visualize me Chasing down SWD saying "I want my Two Dollars" only substituting " I want my Fitz tweener Jersey"....ha ha( Better not welch pal when Josh starts 8 games next season....I am j/k with this thread but flame away if you must......... :koolaid: (kool aid drinker)

Wow, never thought I'd see someone so pleased with a possible situation that will direcly lead to us losing. Oh well. I guess you're just misguided...you'll come around when it's beyond obvious how wrong you are

"And the bottom line is, I think Josh McCown can be a good quarterback."

Denny Green 11/23/04

Notice this is one day after Green benched McCown for Shawn King and one week before McCown was again benched in favor of John Navarre. I'd suggest not taking anything Green says about Josh seriously. I mean, the guy has compared McClown to Brett Favre and Drew Brees over the last twelve months.

Thank you, Mao. I'll believe it when I see it as far as McCown starting. If he does, I'm going to be on tenterhooks from day one, because he inspires about as much optimism as the Maginot Line would today.

If he is any good he should start all games not just 8. If he starts only 8 games that says we are in trouble and will not eve sniff 8/8.

That's one way to interpret or re-interpret Green's words and there meaning.

The other... the more literal - is simply to recognize that he's been consistent in his appraisal... and continues to see McCown as part of the team's future.

Its probably time for an updated poll...taking off Bledsoe, Gannon, and McNair, and adding Fiedler (if we have to).

Brad Johnson
Josh
Griese
Warner
Garcia

Yeah...and.....of course I want him to play all the games John....but I only need 8 starts to win the bet. If Josh isn't benched then it means we are winning and he is making the Bashers go away....and if not then I lose the bet and we get a guy that can get it done. I as always think Josh can get it done. And so does the coach that is such a mystery to you.
