That article is SO BAD. Germany's weakness is defense simple as that but never bet against Germany in a World Cup and never bet against the host.

Germany was dominant today but why you would be playing offside trap against a team like Costa Rica is beyond me. The 2nd goal was definately a missed offside call, the first was very questionable but that's what you set yourself up for if you try to set them offside.

It's fake.. just like Michael Vick in that one spot.

Id be hard pressed to figure out how you could do that so seamlessly over and over. Its not a loop he is in a different spot with a different kick everytime.

The vick one is easy to do.

I heard Ronaldinho say in an interview that it was up to the viewer to decide if it
s fake or real. In other words, it is fake.

You may have been right slin

Nike said he made only two of the shots, the other two are fake.

It's quite obviously a fake. Strange how it's a closeup shot, until he shoots at the crossbar, when it's suddenly a far-off shot where you can barely see what's going on, huh?

Equador...what a neat surprise that was! I have Costa Rica advancing, and I won't back off that. I had them advancing because they beat Poland and Ecuador...well, Ecuador now looks like the tougher of the two games, and I think CR can handle them.

Entertaining match between Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago. Great job by T & T to earn the draw, they represented CONCACAF well.

The result really puts England in the driver's seat in Group B.

My predictions for today.

Paraguay 1 England 0
Sweden 3 Trinidad and Tobago 0
Argentina 1 Ivory Coast 1

Don't waste good money on the Belmont today. :)

-What a match between Argentina and Ivory Coast! I mean, electrifying! I'm glad my friend accidentally TIVOed that match instead of the England match!!!
-Speaking of which...how lucky is England? TNT gets the draw with Sweden, and they win 1-0 on an own goal. England may advance, but they'll have to play FAR better to even get past the first knockout stage.
-Hislop...WOW!!!

Argentina got lucky against CIV. Argentina fouled Drogba in the box multiple times, in fact it was one of the worst reffed games I've seen in a while. CIV is better player for player.

good match by mexico representing our league very well.

Iran handed that game to the Mexicans. 1 terrible mistake and very poor passing by the Iranians overall.

If soccer was a player for player comparison game, Ivory Coast could have won.
Unfortunately for them, it's a team game and they are collectively indigent. No real passing game, they're just putting the ball into the box, hoping for a Drogba's miracle.

Even if they're progressing in this facet of the game since COSAFA cup, they're still too unorganized to win against a powerhouse like elbow throwers of Argentina.

Yup...Argentina needed some luck to win this one. What can one expect in arguably the toughest group of the World Cup where each team can beat any other.

Not having following this team much I was a little frustrated that Argentina seemed to be more interested in protecting their 2-0 lead....but I recken thats why I shouldn't coach...especially against a very athletic team like the Ivory Coast.

On a side note I'm glad the wifey and rugrats sat down and watched the game with me right before Argentina's 2nd goal. She was giving me grief that nothing was happening until Saviola's goal - then she got hooked along with the rugrats.

Btw...that was an awesome pass by Riquelme that set it all up.
