2007 Arizona Cardinals Roster

27 Adams, Michael, CB. PSC (Practice Squad Candidate). Diminutive cover man. Has nickel back potential for now.

28 Arrington, J.J., RB. HMTP (Has Much To Prove). Third year RB who needs to endear himself to new staff. Has speed, needs added toughness.

30 Ayanbadejo, Obafemi, FB. HMTP. West coast-type FB who may not fit the new system. Gritty receiver. Sub-par blocker. Average ST player.

91 Bailey, Rodney, DE. HMTP. Solid addition, especially as a 3-4 DE. Anchor-type DE, must improve pass rush. CBAS (Could Be A Starter).

41 Bain, Travarous, CB. 53MRC (53 Man Roster Candidate). PSL (Practice Squad Lock). Has very good speed and quickness in coverage. Must improve ball awareness and tackling.

33 Baylark, Steve, RB. PSC. Hard-nosed runner who gives his all. High character, between the tackles grinder.

52 Beisel, Monty, LB. Versatile LB and first-rate special teamer. CBAS at 3-4 ILB.

92 Berry, Bertrand, DE. HMTP. Injury prone pass rushing stud. Is a real key to how well the defense plays this year. Much needed for his skills. STR at RDE.

83 Bienemann, Troy, TE. 53MRC. Tall, athletic TE with injury issues. HMTP. MNMI.

55 Blackstock, Darryl, LB. HMTP. Edge pass rusher who has struggled in forcing the run and in coverage. CBAS at WLB. MNMI (May Not Make It).

62 Blagman, Ray, DT. PSC. Big, nose tackle. Raw. MNMI.

81 Boldin, Anquan, WR. APC (All Pro Candidate). Move back inside could mean lofty numbers for Boldin. Versatile and relentless.

9 Boyd, Shane, QB. Knows Whiz's system. Looks like a lock at #3 QB, seeing as no free agent was added to challenge him. Good athlete...adds attractive mobility and arm strength, but has lacked consistent productivity anywhere to date.

78 Branch, Alan. Big, atheltic NT, made to order for Cards' schemes. Gives the Cards much needed strength in the middle. STR at NT.

18 Breaston, Steve, WR. Return man with uncanny vision and sneaky quickness. Instant upgrade as PR. May contribute in slot as well.

85 Bronson, John, TE. 53MRC. Needs a good camp to stick as a blocking TE. Big, strong, imposing athlete who brings middle strength to STs. HMTP.

61 Brown, Elton, G. 53MRC. HMTP. Big, surprisingly agile guard who lost favor with past staff. May excel at quick traps and 2nd tier blocks. Needs to improve head on strength and pass blocking. MNMI.

75 Brown, Levi, T. HMTP, to live up to #5 selection. Mauler-type tackle the Cards covet. Should open up the running game. Will provide strong attitude and leadership. Needs to be consistent in pass protection. STR at RT.

67 Brown, Milford, G. HMTP. Retruning starter at LG. Had solid second half as run blocker and improved pass protector. Must turn the heads of new staff. STR at LG.

20 Brown, Ralph, CB. 53MRC. HMTP. Veteran UFA adds depth. Needs to improve his all around game and special teams ability to make an impact.

46 Castille, Tim, FB. 53MRC. Red zone dynamo as blocker and TD machine. Solid is all aspects. CBAS, if Terrelle Smith falters. PSL.

70 Clancy, Kendrick, DT. HMTP. Coming off sub par year. Now will have to fight to stay a starter with Branch on board and Watson improving. CBT (Could Be Traded), possibly back to Giants, who still bemoan his defection.

93 Cooper, Chris, DE. 53MRC. Versatile, energetic rotation performer. Makes plays. CBAS at 3-4 RDE.

58 Dansby, Karlos, LB. HMTP. Big time. Contract year, coming off sub par year. APC, if motivated, in shape and healthy. Will be moved around to keep defenses guessing. Could lead team in sacks this year. Needs to improve run support on plays right at him.

53 Davis, Buster, LB. CBAS at WLB in the 4-3 and ILB in the 3-4. Versatile bowling ball that gathers no moss...comes hard every play. Brings much needed attitude. Finishes tackles, needs to improve pass coverage and needs to be more sudden and willing at taking out lead blockers when necessary.

90 Dockett, Darnell, DT. HMTP. Hot and cold player who needs to show up more regularly. Showed he could finish off plays last year...would do it one week and disappear the next two. Needs to be much stronger versus the run and more sudden as a pass rusher. CBAS at LDT (4-3) or LDE (3-4).

Dockett will be MIA alot now that he has been paid. Just a hunch.

Dansby is gone after this unless the Cards use franchise tag on him.

Buster Davis rocks.. I hope he can make the transition to the NFl well. He was crazy good in college.

EDIT: Elton Brown is not an MNMI but rather a WNMI

I think Bailey and Cooper will have a hard time making the team because, for this year, the 4-3 is still going to be the prevalent defense. Bailey, an OSU guy, is limited. He's already been with 3 or 4 teams. I think he's here for camp to try and show guys what's expected along the line in the 3-4 . Unless there's an injury it will be hard to keep him.His other best chance is if the Cards keep Pace at OLB. I see the DL locks as being Berry, Dockett, Branch, Okeafor, Clancy, Watson, Smith. I guess Bailey could the 8th guy if Pace is an OLB.It will be between him and Cooper. Both of them shouldn't make the final roster.

A guy who can't stick to 1 team more than a year and hasn't sniffed a sack in 3 could be a starter?

Clancy is the starting NT in both the 3-4 and 4-3 and a vital cog in our D-line. So I find it difficult to see a situation in which he is traded IMO.

I believe Gabe Watson will continue to grow as a player, but because of his size he needs to be rotated. He is a 20 snap type of player until he improves his stamina.

And now we have two of him so we can rotate all afternoon on Sundays.

We did sign an undrafted rookie in Toby Korrodi, but you may be right in saying no free agent was added to challenge Boyd.

The Cardinals are set at the QB position. I can see the Cardinals trading for Faneca before training camp starts. The Cardianls need to address the defense.

I hope he makes the final roster. I have seen some UMass games this year and he's pretty sick. Goodbye J.J. don't let the door hit your wimpy butt on the way out.
