I'm interested in Stackhouse, Nocioni, and Wallace, but I don't think we have any money to get them.

I'm interested in Stack and Magloire but think we have no shot at them as well. They'd be PERFECT here - Stack, as a scorer/slasher/3-point shooter and Magloire as a possible rebounder/shot-blocker - damn. a man can dream!

Hey, I'd take Mutombo for a year. Well, for a series at least.

My favs are Steve Blake, Matt Carroll, Luke Walton, Jason Kapono, Ime Udoka, Travis Deiner(R), and Grant Hill. Not much of a chance for most of them. Weird that all but two are white.

Edit: Forgot PJ Brown, but only possible if we lose KT.

We could use a shooter. I have no idea why both of the guys they picked are wings that can't shoot.

We could also use a couple of guys that can actually guard someone and maybe drive to the hoop. How worthless were Jumaine Jones and Jalen Rose while they were out on the floor? Their offensive contribution consisted of standing behind the three point line and chucking up a three a la Walter McCarty. You can blame that on D'Antoni if you want, but I doubt he just told them to stand in one place and suck when they were out on the floor.

Realistically these might be FAs that we could sign cheaply enough without doing a sign and trade. Sign and trades for guys like Mo Williams, Nocioni, Charlie Bell, Desmond Mason, Matt Barnes, Mickael Pietrus or Morris Peterson can't be completely ruled out either I guess.

Trade KT for capspace and signing Grant Hill, PJ Brown and Joe Smith would be a pretty good offseason imo.

Well they were productive players wherever else they were at...I'll blame D'Antoni.

Now which of these players can we realistically afford? Will Hill take less than MLE? If he wants the whole MLE, will the Suns give that to him? If he gets the whole MLE, would Brown then take veteran minimum? If not, who can we get at the minimum? And will they be better than Piatkowski and Marks?

Guys I'd like

Grant Hill (vet. min or LLE)
PJ Brown (Vet min)
Joe Smith (Vet Min)
Jerry Stackhouse (part of MLE)
Steve Blake (no chance)
Matt Barnes (small chance with MLE)
Mo Peterson (No Chance)

If we can't get any of the pf/C above then - Jake Voshkul (vet min)

I'm not seeing enough Walter Herrmann chatter in this thread, probably because Charlotte will hold onto him, but I like him a lot. Plus the Suns don't have enough players that are comical looking.

I'm all for PJ Brown and Grant Hill like everyone else. I think Hill is realistic, but do we have any indication Brown could come here cheap? Maybe all/part of the MLE for Brown and the vet minimum for Hill?

Barnes would be a great fit, but someone will overpay for him after last years playoffs. Devin Brown would be OK too, though I feel like someone is going to overpay for him too because he's young.

I think the Suns are going to sadly have to rely exclusively on aging guys who want to chase a title. D'Antoni's bench management isn't going to help attract anyone either.

I would be interested in hermann as well but I doubt he leaves the cats so i didnt bother.

I agree matt barnes may get overpaid. Hes going to go from 750,000 a year to like 5 million. Would be great so see him here for a 3yr/7mill or sumpin

I would like to see Blake and Hill on this team next year. Move Banks and Pike. Also if we can get something for KT in a trade I would be happy also.

Suns looking at Allan Houston!?

http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/92413

• The Suns have taken notice that Allan Houston is considering a comeback. The 36-year-old Houston was the league’s second-highest paid player last year ($20.7 million) but his $100 million deal will expire Sunday. He missed the last two seasons with chronic knee pain, but is feeling good. Money is not an issue, and Houston wants to play for a winner.

I'll take a chance on him for the min. But, under no circumstances do I consider him added bench depth or a quality free agent signing. Suns had better bring him in for a workout prior to signing and not give him more than one year.

Another scorer who doesn't play a lick of defense wouldn't be my first choice but the way this off season is going he might be the only thing we can get.

I took that as tounge-in-cheek....
