Cats 16-game winning streak is over as they lose their first Pac-10 game to Stanford, 6-3. Winning streak is over but they do take another series. Up next is a trip to Washington State.

Cats beat WSU in Pullman 3-1 in game one. Preston Guilmet pitches another gem. He goes eight innings, allowing one run and striking out 12. Freshman Jason Stoffel comes in the ninth and gets the save. The win puts the UofA in first place by themselves.

Cats lose game two 4-3. The offense has been sputtering of late. Pitching has been carrying them.

Cats lose 5-3 and lose 2 of 3 to WSU. This is only the second time this year they have lost a series. Big weekend next week as they go to LA to play UCLA.

Cats lose to UCLA in game one 9-3. The UofA offense is struggling right now.

After losing the first two games to UCLA, the Cats get a 3-run home run by Ziegler in the 8th to win game three 5-3.

Cats start a 3-game series at home against USC. Good news last night as ASU beat UCLA. Now if ASU & UCLA split their next two games and the Cats sweep USC, there will be a 3-way tie for first with two weeks to go.

Cats beat USC 5-2 as Preston Guilmet gets another win. Brad Mills, the #2 pitcher is out this week with a pulled muscle in the back. Hoping whoever loses in the UCLA/ASU games wins tomorrow.

Cats lost to USC 4-2 today and USC took the series 2 games to one. Up next is a 3-game home series against Washington.

By the way, the defending softball team received the #1 seed in the playoffs and will host a regional this weekend. The Lady Cats are not as strong as last year. Mowatt is a very good pitcher but that is all they have. She is not strong enough to pitch effectively 3 days in a row. The offense will need to score a lot of runs.

Cats beat Washington 7-0 behind another brilliant pitching performance by Preston Guilmet. The UofA has to sweep Washington. UCLA loss today so the Cats are tied for second.

Cats beat Washington 17-8 and sweep the series. Up next is ASU but the Wildcats will need to sweep the Devils to earn a tie for the title, something which is highly unlikely. The Cats are one game ahead of UCLA for second place so winning two of three would mean the Bruins would have to sweep the Beavers to tie the UofA.

UCLA lost to Oregon State so if they lose one of their next two games, the Cats secure second place by themselves. UCLA will have to win the next two to tie the Cats.

UCLA loses again to the Beavers so the Cats secure 2nd place all by themselves. Still a slim shot at hosting next week.

That looks like a regional that ua should win. They should have hosted imo, but they got a cupcake regional imo.

Wichita State is a very good team - no cupcake. Not all great baseball is played in the "Big 6" conferences.

Wichita State is solid no doubt, but I think the 'Cats can take them.

When is the first game, and when is Guilmet's first start?

Wichita State is a solid team and so is Oral Roberts. Look what Oral Roberts did last year. They have great starting pitching. If there are any cupcake regions, it's asu's. Once they win their region they get to play the winner of the Ole Miss region, which is even weaker than their's.
