Where does Holden come into the fold?

Holden is versatile, he plays centrally for Houston now & has played wide previously (both left & right), that has to give him a good shot. He'll play tonight against Haiti.

Kljestan & Beasley may find themselves out of the picture if he & Rogers continue to impress...but their time as starters probably won't come until 2014 qualifying.

Yeah, both of his distance shots were awesome...an inch lower on that first one and that would have been the goal of the tournament.

Group C Preview-Gameweek 3

Panama Vs Nicaragua

Panama will be looking for one of the 2 remaining slots available for quarterfinals.Panama require a definite victory inorder to qualify.Nicaragua on the other hand have a slim-outside chance of qualifying.

My Prediction- Panama 2 - 0 Nicaragua

Mexico Vs Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe are definitely through to the next stage & are looking for a 100% record. Mexico are more or less in the next stage as long as they do not lose!

My Prediction-Mexico 1- 1 Guadeloupe

Im catching my matches at Omnisport.tv, they have a great feed in HD quality.

Enjoy the games!!

Wow. I don't want to see Robles in goal again for us. EVER. He was so awful that I think maybe Mulli could have played keeper better for us.

For some reason Panama always seems to play us pretty good..luckily the US pulled it out in OT 2-1.

I hope Jimmy Conrad is ok, he was knocked senseless.

Up next Honduras in Chicago...we beat them 2-0 last time but this time we won't have Feilhaber & Davies who were big parts of that game. It'd be nice if they called in Altidore (he is still in the States and was on their expanded roster).

So far Holden, Beckerman & Marshall have been the best US players in this tournament. Robbie Rogers started out strong but looks to be a bit of a one trick pony--speed up the flank to the flag, when other defenses realize that he is pretty ineffective.

Semi-Finals Preview

Honduras Vs USA

USA face Honduras for the second time in this tournament. USA needed an injury time penalty to see off Panama in the quarters while Honduras squeaked past Canada 1-0. Could be a tight game!

My Prediction- Honduras 1 - 2 USA

Costa Rica Vs Mexico

Both Teams scored highly in their quarterfinal games. Expect a goal fest!

My prediction- Costa Rica 3 - 2 Mexico

I stream my games LIVE on omnisport.tv- HD quality and very reliable feed!!

Happy Viewing!!

US through to the final, pretty good for a decidedly B/C team.

US against Mexico Sunday 2:30 ET in NY.

It'll be great to see how the "not regulars" do against each other. The only 2 guys who were there for the US from the game in February are Pearce & Ching(both started).

FINALS

After a hard fought semi final against Costa Rica eventually decided on penalties, Mexico will take on hosts and holders – the USA – in the final. Will the USA retain their trophy or will they fall to a Mexico team boasting two players from the English Premier League – Giovani Dos Santos of Tottenham and Carlos Vela from Arsenal?

My Prediction- USA 2 - 1 Mexico

I will be streaming the finals live on omnisport as well!! It's in HD!!

Enjoy the game!!

Mexico had a nice game vs Costa Rica, failed a PK (that wouldve put the game away) and let Costa Rica back in the game on a late lapse.

Vela got some action after being out with an injury, but didnt take very long for him to start getting at the balls that Giovani was spoonfeeding the entire team.

Mexico wins 2-1 on Sunday.

Well, as predicted, Mexico wins the Gold Cup this year, but i did not expect them to absolutely embarrass the US 5-0 on their own soil.

Giovani Dos Santos and Carlos Vela are going to be quite the handful for the 'states in the future.

Big game Aug 12th. I see Mexico winning there too, seeing how the US is 0-33-1 all time :)

Yo zeno, like my sig?

Seems a little funny to be crowing about beating our C-D squad, who really cares? The US "A" squad dominates Mexico with regularity and it's common knowledge that the US is the best team in the region.

Sure, but I don't think it helps. The only advantage Mexico will have is altitude. Let's see how many starters from today's game end up playing on August 12th. My guess is less than 3. Getting too riled up over this game would be like watching scrubs and rookies in an NFL preseason game and thinking that has an effect on the a game between the starters. Last time I checked the US starters dominate Mexico.

Even in Mexico city?Don't think so. Only Ochoa, Gio (maybe) and Torrado would be starting for Mexico as well, not exactly like this was A-squad vs C-squad.

Marquez, Osorio, Salcido should help seal up the defense. Arce, Pardo, Guardado are soid midfielders, and as far as strikers go, i really hope Vela starts getting some action, shame he lost some time due to injury, but looked great vs US today.

US' lose streak at the Azteca will continue

I'm just curious. Not trying to slight you or anything. I just couldn't imagine, myself being an American, supporting another country's team more than my own, especially a bitter rival. It just wouldn't make sense to me, so I'm trying to figure you out.

If Italy or Brazil was playing the USA in a competition that mattered (World Cup especially) I would have a hard time wanting the US to win. Mostly because the Italian and Brazilian teams have way more interesting players.

Mexico? No way.

ahh that's crap sorry... my favorite teams are all English, favorite players are all English, my heritage is English and I root for England whenever I can but if they are going against USA I'm rooting for the country I'm calling home regardless of what actual players they may have 'at that moment'
