ahh that's crap sorry... my favorite teams are all English, favorite players are all English, my heritage is English and I root for England whenever I can but if they are going against USA I'm rooting for the country I'm calling home regardless of what actual players they may have 'at that moment'
Free country. :)

yes yes it is.... and that mentality won't change until the USA actually starts to get some superstars in the game and MLS steps up play.... Watching Mexico v USA "C" team or not was SAD to see soooo many green shirts in attendance.. .they kept saying 1st loss on home soil... well if that is home soil then it's better to go on the road....

Exactly. Heck, I might end up wanting the US to win when it came down to it. I just think Messi, Kaka, Totti :))) are FAR more interesting than Landon Donovan.

I'm probably going to piss people off, but that is pathetic IMO. I can't see how you can call yourself a fan if you support other teams. I like watching loads of teams, but if they played the States then I would curse their names all night. Show some pride in your country. I wouldn't care if they US were ranked 150th in the World I would love em just as much. International football (in fact any football/sport for that matter) is about supporting your team. That's what makes sports great, sticking by them no matter who they are playing or how bad they are.

Free country. I didn't really call myself a fan of the US team. :)

I am not sure why people get so worked up about which people support which teams.

I did say I might very well end up wanting the US to win anyway. So there.

I'm just curious. Not trying to slight you or anything. I just couldn't imagine, myself being an American, supporting another country's team more than my own, especially a bitter rival. It just wouldn't make sense to me, so I'm trying to figure you out.

Well, I was born in Mexico, so I root for Mexico.

I live in the US, so i root for the US whenever they don't play Mexico.

X2 !

I'd like to hear from the poeple that don't support the USA in international soccer, that were born and rasied in the USA.

Who do you root for in the Oylmpic games? Were you rooting against Micheal Phelps? USA Basketball team?

Is it that you only root for a winner, or do you root for pride and effort from your county mates?

Pick a team. Cheering for both teams is like cheering for the Cardinals & Cowboys. I hate people who CHOOSE to live in this country yet don't support our team first and foremost.

Mexico won the Gold Cup against a squad full of guys who won't make the WC squad, only 2 players for the US even made the squad against Mexico in February.

The US may not win in that dump in a pit of a city in Mexico but Mexico won't win 5-0 either. Mexico truly has homefield advantage there--most polluted city in North America, high altitude and 100K+ fans.

Anyways back to the game (I was in Minnesota without internet this past week so I couldn't comment earlier)...if Heaps, Arnaud or Pause see another game in a National team kit then Bradley is a worse coach than I imagined.

Dos Santos is awesome, if they named a player of the tournament it'd have to be him(he did dive on that PK call though but otherwise was awesome).

1. Im sorry you feel that way.

2. Prior to the Aug12th game, only Torrado and Ochoa were starters for the Mexico WC squad. But thats not really an excuse, since many of them had played in the WC squad before. What was really hurting Mexico was the whirlwind of coaches and different combinations of players that had absolutely no chemistry built up.

3. I wish people would stop w/ the pollution excuse. Do Mexicans have super lungs that gave them an edge over US? Last i checked, a good amount of their players play for european clubs, not in mexico city.

4. Alternate angles show the defender pulling down on Dos Santos, not that one less goal wouldve made it less of a dominant performance.
