Bryzgalov was outstanding both years in the playoffs for Anaheim, he had 3 shutouts in a row including a Game 7 on the road in Calgary. The Stanley Cup year he filled in for Giguere when he was out in the first round as well. He's had some atrocious games for the Coyotes (but he's certainly not the only one), giving up incredibly soft goals several times now. If the Coyotes are going to make a comeback, he's going to have to be their best player. So far he hasn't been.

I should have included (for us). I remember that playoff run, which is why I was so surprised he was exposed to waivers. Either way, the expectation was that this was going to be a coming out party for him, and it certainly hasn't happened.

Coyotes down 4-1 in the 3rd period. They came out falt and Detroit took the crowd out very early. Could Wednesday's game be the last home game ever for the Coyotes? I hope not.

What is ironic to me is that the Yotes traded away offense for defense - and their defense is terrible From top to bottom. Jovo was afraid to get hit and allows the early TO for the first goal. And it was downhill from there.

It will be tough to see them leave, but they just can't compete with the lack of resources in Glendale.

Yeah I was there, it was my first ever NHL playoff game.

First of all I have to give Coyote fans props because during intro's and as the game started, it was a crazy atmosphere up there with any sporting event I've ever attended, it was so much fun.

Hard to stay in it when Detroit jumps up on us that quick though.

Still the fans tried to keep themselves in it, the crowd kept chanting and most of them stayed until the end even when there was no hope.

Sure hope the Coyotes stay cuz I would like to take my kids to a NHL playoff game one day because that was really fun, even though we got killed.

I hate to say it but I think that this next one will be the last time that building sees an NHL game, which is a travesty for many reasons

At this point I just hope they win it and for the love of god no whiteout - go with your red or black (the sandstorm i think would of been best ... but whatever)

It will be a shame if they close out their arizona chapter just like so many other seasons have ended - a first round exit in front of a white out ........ I just don't get the point of following a winnipeg tradition to the tomb when the team looks like it will end up there

A-freakin'-men!!!

Why they do that is beyond me and just plain stupid. It was a Winnipeg thing, which makes sense there, in Phoenix it is just dumb.

I can't believe how much hype that gets from the team and local media, I also can't believe the fans participate in it. The whiteout has no business here.

I always felt the whiteout was a slap in the face to the Winnipeg fans. But the thing is, it lost a lot of its charm anyway when the league went back to wearing white on the road. It used to be that most teams had quasi-whiteouts during the playoffs because so many of the fans were wearing the home white jerseys. It was always so intense--I miss it.

Hopefully the Coyotes can get a win tonight: even if this isn't the last game in Phoenix, it would be nice to give the home fans a win in this series.

Coyotes lose 6-3 and get swept by Detroit. Very sad way to end it if this really was the last game they play in Arizona. The Goldwater Institute can go you know where. I hope Hulsizer can get it done.

I'm pulling for LA now.

Props to the Yotees. Some might say getting bounced in the first round sucks, but I am a Cards and Suns fan also. They got swept, but they made it there. I really hope they stay.

Sitting in section 120 and had a clear view of Bryzgalov. He gagged in the end. Sorry to see him end on such a weak note. It is something that will need to be addressed next year wherever he plays.

I agree, the Redwings were just flat out the better team and it was obvious by more than the 4-0 sweep.

To the Coyotes credit they played with heart until the bitter end but it just wasn't enough.

Seeing all those fans not leaving their seats after the game and many of them crying was pretty heartbreaking. Hockey may not have been a glowing success in the desert, but that doesn't mean there weren't some hardcore Coyotes fans. I felt bad for them. I hope the team stays, no matter how stupid people think they or their traditions are.

It's always sad that the people in a fanbase who take the most abuse are the ones who care the most. The people who don't care about hockey in Phoenix? They don't care whether the town gets lambasted in the hockey press, either. The ones who read most of it? They're also the ones buying tickets and rocking Coyotes jerseys.

In a way the season couldn't have ended any worse. It was bad enough that they drew the Wings--a team to whom they'd lost in the opening round twice, and whose fans were definitely going to descend on the arena and show them up. But to be swept by them is brutal.

Personally, this story has gone on so long that I'm not buying the latest reports. Nothing would surprise me at this point. The worst would be the team moving to Houston, KC, Vegas, etc.

He and Yandle were brutally bad in this series. When the two best regular season players sucked that much, it's way too much for an overachieving team to overcome. Especially against a veteran team like the Wings.

Damn. One more stinking regular season point and we'd have had home ice advantage against the Ducks. This team just seems to be cursed when it comes to the playoffs.

Doan was an absolute monster, arguably the best player in the entire series. He deserves so much better.

Yep. Had everyone else raised their game like he did, the sweep might have been in the opposite direction.
