The NBA schedule will be officially released Tuesday, but here's a preview courtesy of Coro:

December 26 vs. New Orleans (season opener)
December 28 vs. Philadelphia
December 30 @ New Orleans
December 31 @ Oklahoma City

Two back-to-back-to-back sets:

Feb 13-15 (at Golden State, at Denver, vs. Atlanta)
March 14-16 (vs. Utah, at LA Clippers, vs. Detroit)

One game vs. Miami, Chicago, Boston, Orlando, NY, Indiana on the road only.

Apparently now he's posted the entire schedule, so here it is:

Additional notes:
The Suns plays 17 back-to-back sets and two back-to-back-to-back sets ... The Suns open and finish at home ... They will play five of their last six games at home but that follows a stretch of 12 road games over 15 games ... The only East teams the Suns play twice are Milwaukee, Cleveland and Atlanta ... The six West teams the Suns will play four times are the Los Angles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston, San Antonio, New Orleans and defending champion Dallas ... The West teams only visiting Phoenix once are Oklahoma City (one Durantula visit), Denver, Utah and Sacramento (one Jimmermania day) ... The Suns don't play Utah until March 14 ... The only 2011 East All-Stars visiting Phoenix are Joe Johnson and Al Horford.
So, 21 out of the 66 games will come on no rest. What was the Suns record last year in such scenario with respect to the rest of the league?

Btw, it's also being reported that the Lakers will open the season with a back-to-back-to-back.

Going to be a rough Season. Nash and Hill's productivity frequently dropped on back to backs last year. If there's a year that I'd be fine with "blowing it up," it's this year.

Though I'm sure the Suns are going to ride the vets into the ground and be just good enough to have an end of the lottery or mid first round pick.

The NBA lockout is ending, but Phoenix still is getting locked out from seeing those Eastern Conference stars. With schedules sliced from 82 to 66 games, six East teams will not visit Phoenix this season. The six (Miami, Chicago, Orlando, Boston, New York and Indiana) were 2011 playoff teams that account for every East All-Star starter and 10 of the 12 East All-Stars.

Well that sucks... I was hoping to sell my tickets to those games to help reduce the costs of a season ticket package.

Yeah, How does that work? Do you still pay the same for the season, even with less home games?

They're refunding me back for the missed games and giving me a whopping 1% annual interest.... which added up to 5 cents in interest on my 1st refund check for 3 missed pre-season games. Right now there's going to be 34 home games (1 pre-season) instead of 44.

There's still some good homes games though: 2 Spurs, 2 Lakers, 2 Dallas, 2 Clippers & 1 OKC Thunder... and then some games against lower playoff seeds Portland, New Orleans, Memphis, Charlotte, Denver.

Wow, "Interest" huh? Don't they know they can't just give that away? :)

In these times 1% APR is not that bad. Of course I do not know how they calculate it.

Apparently the Suns are one of only seven teams to play multiple back-to-back-to-back series this season.

Some of the teams who will only play one back-to-back-to-back: Miami, Dallas, Lakers, Boston, Chicago, Orlando, New York. I don't have the full list.

lol... so the best teams in the league only have to do it once and the Lakers get it out of the way right off the bat when their legs are freshest so as to not hit them hard in the middle of the season. shocker.

Coro:
The Suns are the only West team to not host any of the East's top five draws (BOS, CHI, MIA, NY, ORL). G-State & OKC each host all five.
This is obviously going to hurt the Suns financially, and having to play those teams on the road only instead of at home only will not help in the standings either. I wonder if this is Stern's way of putting Sarver back in his place.

Also according to ESPN's Haberstroh the Suns have one of the five toughest schedules in the league based on opponent strength.

Has the TV schedule been announced for Fox Sports Arizona? I know that ESPN and TNT have released theirs.

Agree. I want them to suck this year.

Unfortunately, we probably won't. Unless Nash gets traded or gets injured we're looking at the poster child for mediocre teams.

maybe, but I think there's a very good chance this compressed schedule is going to wreak havoc on Nash's health and Hill's productivity... which means we could slide from mediocre to pretty bad.

Sure, recovery time is going to be an issue for the older guys but total minutes will be way down and that should reduce the overall wear and tear. Also, they've had a much longer rest period between seasons which should also help. IMO, we'll probably be a little better this season than last simply because we won't waste part of the schedule on the Hedo experiment. And while I do expect to see Nash wear down, we see that every year and I'm not sure it's going to be much worse than year's past. Hopefully, they'll find a reasonable deal for Steve though and render this moot.

Steve
