Justin Upton is the only Diamondback to make the team but Kennedy still has a shot if he gets voted in by the fans.

Upton also said he would like to participate in the home run derby but that is up to Fielder. Gibson said he would not be against Justin playing. By the way, Josh Hamilton said he might be willing to participate in Ortiz asks him. The pool would get some activity if he does play.

I would really like to see Pena in the home run derby. If he continues to hit home runs, I'm sure there would be teams to inquire about trading for him.

Lets all just pray that the high temps during the All Star break are 105 or lower. The announcers and media are going to bitch ad naseum about the heat either way, but hopefully we don't have one of those crazy 115+ stretches during the game.

Right now, the early forecast is for monsoons and temps in the high 90's. Like you said, the heat will of course be a topic of discussion, however, I'm sure Chase Field will show well nonetheless...
I'll be there for both the HR Derby on Monday and the game on Tuesday! ;)

Screw 'em. They're probably the same ones that always say, "but at least it's a dry heat". They can't have it both ways (although I know you're right, I'm just preparing myself to be irritated :) )

I'm underwhelmed by Fielder's choices. I don't think anyone watches the home run derby to see who hits the most 335 foot home runs...we all want to see the bombs that guys like Upton and Stanton can hit. :(

Howard should of been picked over Upton and Holliday. I think there should only be one player representing a team. Weeks and Gonzalez should not be eligible in my opinion.

Well last year Gonzalez did say he would boycott the game so it seems like he changed his tune quite a bit.

Yeah, there were some question marks in there. Maybe Fielder doesn't want to be shown up?

Jeter, Rivera, and ARod have all pulled out.

Coincidence?

I am pumped about this. I have read quite a few articles saying he was a big time snub. He is having an awesome first half and I am very happy for him

Got back from MLB Fan Fest about couple of hours ago. Took pictures and got autographs with Greg Swindell Tony Womack and Rollie Fingers.

I think A-Rod is resting from an injury. Jeter is probably sick of reading articles that say he shouldn't be in the game. I have no idea why Mariano is out.

First off, I am not a Yankee fan but I have no problem with the 3 not being here. A-Rod is having surgery and is out until September. As for Jeter, he has a strained quad and Rivera has a sore tricep. I have no problem with Jeter and Rivera skipping the game due to rest for the second half. Those guys are past their prime and should stay home to rest. The second half is more important than the All-Star game.
