Those guys are past their prime and should stay home to rest.

Yeah it's tough to fly on a private jet and be chauffered to a five star resort just to come out and wave to the crowd and the millions watching.

What a joke!

First off, I am not a Yankee fan but I have no problem with the 3 not being here. A-Rod is having surgery and is out until September. As for Jeter, he has a strained quad and Rivera has a sore tricep. I have no problem with Jeter and Rivera skipping the game due to rest for the second half. Those guys are past their prime and should stay home to rest. The second half is more important than the All-Star game.

I disagree - this is a slap in the face to the fans - especially Jeter that was voted in by the fans.

Jeter is not on the DL. If you are not on the DL, your appearance should be mandatory. You don't have to play, but you should dress, be introduced to the FANS.

If not, 10-game suspension, ineligible for next year's All-Star game.

So Holliday only hit five home runs, once again he sucks in the home run derby. Upton could of easily done better.

Weeks with only three homers. I'm happy the NL is losing right now.

Way to represent Mr. Weeks. Nice pick over Justin there Prince.

At least the hometown fans booed Prince pretty good. That said, Prince was put in an awful spot. Maybe shoulda left Holliday off (since he's already done it) and let the three first timers in (Kemp, Weeks, and Upton).

Glad to see him fail.

I kinda felt a little (very little) bad for him. It's not his fault Prince picked him.

That said, glad Prince got the crap booed outta him tonight. And he's kinda been a jerk about the whole thing. Poor choices, man. Poor choices.

Glad the NL lost this one, and I have never (nor do I think I ever will again) cheer against the NL.

I can't stand the Yankees or their fans, but I loved the fact that Cano had his dad right there with him as he won it. Then he got the trophy from his former manager. Great story.

Sat in RF for the Derby. That was awesome. Three times I had a ball screaming straight towards me. Three times the swarm of peoe enveloped me. So crazy.

Padre Mulli and I booed a ton. So proud of DBacks fans for supporting their team tonight. Any decent baseball town would boo like we booed tonight.

Holy mjoly Cano and Gonzales hit bombs. I mean it was like nothing I had seen. I highly recommend seeing one of these live.

And poor saps in left missed out. All the finalists were lefties so all the balls were hit to us. Upper tank in right field? Hitting the combos sign and the picnic area, what!!!

Who is dumber: the guy offering $700 for a gold HR ball or the dope who didn't take it?

they retail at $150 so maybe that can help make the decision

RF would of been fun and I was debating about there or 316 (where I ended up) when I bought my tickets ..... glad I chose 316, even though there were tons of balls hit to RF .... with 8 year old twins it would of been a rough night for them in the bleachers and they had a blast watching the pitches come in and then go out

some absolute bombs .... glad cano was able to take it, he put on the best show and was killing the ball

princes picks were a joke - they kept a running scoreboard in the stadium, an NL v AL thing and it about tipped over it was so lopsided .... I don't think prince understood that this is a show for the fans - many of whom are paying really good cash to be there ..... he made bad picks and heard about it

Weeks heard about it as well .... not his fault he was picked, but he was clearly undeserving to be there and the "we want upton" chant was very loud

Overall a fun events - it's just as long in person as it is on TV .... although the added bonus was very little berman (was nervous when he did the introduction for the evening that the stadium would be hooked up to his mic ...... although daron sutton was pretty brutal, I didn't have to listen to a single "back, back, back")

We went to fanfest on Friday and had a really good time ... was moderately busy the first couple of hours, but really thinned out around 4:30 ..... longest we waited in line was about 30 minutes and we did that twice .... the boys had fun in the cages, getting under the gun (one of them hit 44), playing bean bag toss, sliding into 2nd, seeing the mascots and we all had baseball cards made of ourselves ..... lots of good giveaways

although without the kids I'm sure it would of been a lot like the NBA Jam Session that was with their all star game .... I would of walked around, checked out some of the exhibits (the day I was there they had some of womens league players there and a nice exhibit about them - the negro leagues exhibit, the minor leagues exhibit, the trophies, etc) - made a comment about how this would be a fun place for kids and then left pretty quickly

we did end up getting tickets for tonight so it should be another fun time ... btw, so glad they kept the value menu on concessions ..... $1.50 hot dogs and popcorn were golden for the kids

They announced right before the game that tickets were still available. They might have been in the nosebleed sections, but it sure doesn't make Phoenix look good if it can fill up an All Star game.

For those of you at the game, were there empty seats as the game progressed?

They must of been corporate seats that people backed out of, etc. Tickets for the actual game never went on individual sale and the place was pretty packed ..... I think I saw one open string of seats a couple sections over .... that was about it and I was in the upper level

The place was full and fairly loud ..... some people took off to begin the 8th .... but not in droves

In the section I sat, 221, in the All-you-can-eat section, there were a number of empty seats

Stadium looked pretty full from right field. A few empties here and there, but nothing terrible.

Hey Jon, what the allyoucaneat food any good? I can't see eating that many hot dogs and that much popcorn. :)

Those are snacks - got real food from the concessions. Did save having to buy water/soda

So it is allyoucaneat snacks?

We brought our own water. Saved big time.

Tamales in Chase Field are pretty good, if a bit too bland for my taste.

the $6.50 polish sausage I had wasn't really that great.

Kettle Corn and candied almonds are decent ballpark food.
