I forgot how much I love to watch the Diamondbacks when they're playing good baseball. This past week and a half has been some exciting baseball. Hopefully the staff and the main pitchers in the pen can stay consistent and the hitters can keep doing enough to win.

Kelly Johnson is finally snapping out of his slump which is huge for the team. However, the offense continues to place way too much pressure on the piching staff, forcing our starters to have to be near perfect each outing just to keep the team in the game.
Young and Upton in particular are bigtime holes in the lineup. Until they can become much more consistent at the plate, the team will most likely hover around .500. And if the pitching comes down to earth, the season will get ugly pretty quickly as just don't have the bats to compensate for even average pitching production.

Still, it's fun times at the moment...

De La Rosa out for the season for the Rockies.

Buster Posey out for the year for the Giants.

D-Backs need to go on a run here!

Wow. That sucks. For them... It's been so much fun to watch recently. Gotta starts scoring more, there's no way this squeaking out wins will continue for long.

The Diamondbacks take 3 of 4 from Colorado as Montero hit a 3-run homer and Johnson a 2-run shot. Micah Owings got the win, giving up one run in five innings. Did he pitch good enough to stay in the rotation?

Got a KTAR text that said "Micah Owings got his first win as a D-back after a 6-3 victory in Colorado."

I immediately thought...it was not his first win as a D-back...

About a minute later...got a second KTAR text that said "Correction. Owings gets first win since returning to the D-backs after a 6-3 win in Colorado."

:D

Diamondbacks were down 6-0 to the Astros but behind Miranda's two homers, they come back and win 7-6. I am eating crow regarding Miranda. I guess once he got some consecutive games played, he felt more comfortable.

And they've done all this with Upton playing terrible. Why can't the guy make a simple play?

The batting order merry-go-round continues.

Bloomquist SS, Roberts 2B, Upton RF, Young CF, Nady LF, Miranda 1B, Mora 3B, Blanco C, Collmenter P

Of course it would be a lot easier to make and stick to an order if the Dbacks had stars at very position.

Absolutely horrible call by the home plate umpire trying to make himself a part of the game. Not his call and not close to a balk.

Nady comes up big after not getting the guy in in the first inning. Props to Young for hustling all the way. Miranda continues to hit and nice to see Upton get that triple to get the offense going. It's now up to the bullpen.

Pounded the Stros like a potential Division Winner should. At least someone is carrying the flag for Arizona sports, even if for just a little while.

Excited to see how they play against the Marlins, who are also playing well. Not facing Josh Johnson is always a plus :)

Gibby is the difference. He teaches (and his coaching staff) the players how to play the game and to win.
