I highly doubt their teams will let those players go easy, even Houston is saying they are not looking at trading Yao Ming and why the heck would you want with Ming and Oden anyway, they are both built out of glass.

That's what many said about Tyson Chandler and Grant Hill. Oden would be a magnificent gamble, and I would do it if it did not cost too much.

Would be great to have one of the JJ's back but we still have more wings than a flock of seagulls.

Get Nick Young or Marcus Thornton.

Both can produce about 20 a night on a consistent basis.

Please don't overpay to get J-Rich back. He won't be nearly as effective without Nash and we're tryin to get younger not older. J-Rich is in his 30s.

Trade Aaron Brooks to Minnesota for Michael Beasley or Anthony Randolph. Minny really wanted Brooks at the deadline (sign and trade) and its possible they would give up either for Brooks. I'd definitely make the call.

Rumors had Minnesota offering Flynn for Brooks. I'm not sure Minnesota would offer a big for a small but it's a thought. I'm not enamored with Beasley or Randolph but then again I am not enamored with Brooks at this point.

What's the deal with Michael Redd? Has he ever gotten back to his pre-injury form?

Edit: just saw that he played his 1st game in 14 months after that knee injury... I don't know what kind of contract he'll be looking for after being out so long & not having much time to prove himself again.

Other players I'd be interested in:
PG - Carlos Arroyo
SG - Redd, Jason Richardson
PFs: Tayshaun Prince, Kris Humphries, Troy Murphy

Obviously there are a few bigger names that we have basically no chance of getting like Nene, Zach Randolph, Tyson Chandler, David West, Tim Duncan.

I wish we were able to sign Nene. Gortat and Nene, there is a deadly combo of C and PF. That combo probably puts us at the top of the West in terms of best Center PF combo. Maybe in the NBA. As much as Frye has improved, having a beast like Nene simply overpowering opponents is something that is lacking in Phoenix.

Brooks for Michael Beasley or Anthony Randolph would be sweet. Maybe trade Brooks for Flynn and a first round pick (if they're anything like the Suns FO). Nick Young or Marcus Thornton would also be nice on the SG. I don't want J-Rich back either.

I doubt if just Brooks can get either Randolph or Beasley. However I think its possible to create a trade that can make this happen.

A few guys I might want in free agency

Nene

Knicks: Shawne Williams - can make the corner three extremely well and plays pretty decent D off the bench.

Kings: Samuel Dalembert - Defense, rebounding and toughness inside.

Hornets: Carl Landry - undersized but powerful, would be a great bench player who can step in for Frye. Plus the Suns won't have to get owned by him anymore.

Kris Humphries - Rebounding, toughness, a bit undersized at 6'9" but who cares him and Gortat would clean up glass all day. In for a pretty lucrative contract so I don't know.

Restricted guys

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - pretty good SF who rebounds and can score as well. He is also an excellent defender who has room to improve.
Marc Gasol
DeAndre Jordan

I don't see nene going anywhere. I think Landry would be good off the bench for sure. I personally would like J Rich back, i think he fits into the offense and he know the system but i dont see Orlando getting rid of him.

I would like to bring in Barrea as our backup PG instead of Brooks. I would imagine Dallas wants to re-sign him, but they still have other players to re-sign like Chandler, so the money might not be there. Brooks will cost as much if not more, but Barrea would fit much better running our system for as long as Nash is still here.

As for a long term replacement for Nash, I do wonder if Barrea could ever start in this league though. He's been effective in limited minutes, but never played a bigger role. But if the Suns let Brooks walk, they need a better option than Dowdell to backup Nash next year. I doubt they'll find it through the draft, especially since they only have one pick and I'd much rather they address the SG or PF positions with that.

Nene would be perfect, but I don't see him leaving Denver any time soon.

I wouldn't like getting JRich back, he's getting older, already over 30, and this team right now needs younger. He fits the Suns good, but I fear PHX would pay too much for him.

Speaking of young, getting Nick Young would be awesome. Watching some Wizards games, he really stood out. Good scorer, fast, versatile. I think he would fit Nash offense really well. I have no idea what that kind of trade would this involve though.

Other than him, Greg Oden. A HUGE gamble, but one that Suns should take. And hope we have more luck than the Blazers.

Nene is the bull in the china shop that this team needs. VC plus assets for Nene (s&t)? We'd probably lose the #13 in that deal, but if not, we could get the best available 2. Otherwise, we'd have to sign a 2 (Josh Howard rehab project?).

Nash-Draft/FA-Hill-Nene-Gortat

Frye-Dudley(?)-Pietrus-Lopez(?)-Warrick-Childress

That ain't too bad....

Carl Landry is a terrible rebounder.

Please I just hope the Suns learned from signing Childress and Warrick. It is pointless to overpay for these role player types.

If anything take a chance on low priced guys with potential like Brandan Wright..

Signing players like Josh Childress and Hakim Warrick is something you can do when you have your team in place to contend. Not when you are close to get under the cap and sign some actually good players.
