I wonder if the Suns could rehab Brandon Roy. He has a terrible contract. If Carter could be traded to Portland after they are eliminated from the playoffs the Suns could probably expect a lot in return. I just do not know if Roy will ever recover from his knee injuries, but he is a SG. I understand he is unhappy with his playing time.

Interesting idea. When your situation is complete crap, sometimes you need to take risks like this. It would be incredibly ironic however, considering the decision made about Amare.

Hey, why not try to bolster the front court by bringing in Oden and Jermaine Oneal as well?

No, microfracture tries to repair existing cartilage but there is none. Doctors can't help Roy, he is simply done.

There are conflicting reports about his knees, but I agree that he is done. The problem is that much like Penny, he doesn't know it yet. He still thinks he's the man. There is no way the Suns touch him and his contract.

So, Roy is seriously considering Cartilage replacement surgery. It involves using cartilage from a "donor" and surgically implanting it. Marshal Faulk had the surgery but after his playing days were over.

Roy would be the first athlete to have this done with the idea of "playing" on it. There is another treatment that is just too experimental which is using your own stem cells to grow new cartilage but it's not far enough along yet.

I would say considering the experimental nature of even using "donor" cartilage and the unknowns if it can stand up to regular play, I would say he is probably done.

Didn't Danny Manning have successful reconstructive surgery on both knees. Just going from memory, it seems cadaver tissue was used for a tendon or such.

Yes, but that was acl/mcl surgery, not cartilege replacement.

Does anyone know on what exact play or game he suffered the injury in?

I have heard that he strained the injury when he played against us last year in the playoffs trying to act "hero."

Trade Maciej Lampe again;). He is one of the most improved players in Europe at the moment. He is the best player of Kazan which won the Europe Cup recently. His attitude to professional sport :cheers:has changed completely, and he is still young and played well with Gortat.

The expectation is that Lopez will be moved this offseason. I've mentioned before that Lampe would be a good choice to bring in to back-up Gortat. One would think to think we'd have the inside track due to the Polish connection and his past stint with us. Does anyone know what his Euro contract looks like?

I'd also like us to give a look at that Gustavo Ayon, and Joe Alexander. Alexander may finally be ready for the NBA after a solid year in the D-league. He's a bit of a tweener, but could be useful if we don't resign Hill and drop one of our other wings.

If you can combine Nash and Lopez in package, bringing in Lampe is a great idea. I think teams would bite on a Nash trade if Lopez is included. It gives them something for now, and something possibly for later.

BTW, why is Kemba Walker's stock falling. He looks like a Chris Paul type of player to me.

Lampe is not NBA material. Never was never will be.

Playing on a team that win the ULEB cup means nothing. It is not very good competition in that cup anyway.

There are your final MVPs. Lampe not among them but how many of those do you even know?

Kemba Walker is not Chris Paul. He is not as athletic, not as good a passer, not as good rebounder.

Why the heck would we move Robin Lopez?? He is worth nothing right now. How will we find a better backup center? Don't tell me Frye can be our backup center.

Lampe > Siler.

I'd like to see more of Siler in summer league and preseason. He seems to have a good learning curve but he needs to stay in shape. However, it would be great to have two Polish players on the Suns so they can push and help each other.

How does being Polish have anything to do with that?

Nothing that is why Gortat left Poland for the German league and played there for 4 years and then left the Germany league for the NBA.

Lampe was only 19 when he was in Phoenix. He was too young to play in the NBA. Lopez is 22 and is still too young. Here's an interview with Lampe talking about his NBA career and what went wrong: hoopshype.com/interviews/lampe_barrigon.htm

Lampe has improved his game a lot in last few years. Now he's one of the best players in a TOP 3 league in Europe. He ranks 6th in scoring and 2nd in rebounding in the Russian League. He was also selected to the All-Star game this season and scored 26 pts.

In Eurocup he was the best rebounder and 7th best scorer and was named to the 2010/2011 All-Eurocup First Team.
