CY now down to .214. Seriously, all kidding aside - how is this guy in the majors?? He even looked horrendous in the field!! Misplayed a ball to deep center into a triple. And then, with a runner on 2nd base with average speed, a Brewer hits a hard shot up the middle, ball takes a few bounces and CY doesn't even attempt to make a throw to home. Most other CF's would have at least made the throw, if not nailed the runner - Parra for sure would have thrown the guy out. It's like all teams now know they can run on Young anytime, anywhere...
He's become nothing short of a laughable clown now...
I'm with you, but even if we weren't fed up with Young, it is obvious that his only hope would be a fresh start somewhere else. Now that his weak hitting has affected his fielding, there is nothing left.

And I can't help but feel that Young is a bad influence on the younger Upton. Remove Young and we wouldn't just gain Parra in CF, but it might lead to a positive improvement in Upton's mindset.

I think it is time to either trade CY or send him back to the Minors. But then, what he has become would be a bad influence on our young players working their way up.

BTW, what ever happened to the separation of church and baseball? Isn't Young out of "uniform" wearing a big cross outside his shirt as well as sucking on it throughout the game? There is a time and place for everything. On the baseball field, wearing a uniform, is neither the time nor place for religious symbols.

Really? Is that any different from a player doing the "cross" as they step into the batter's box or come in as a reliever? Pointing skyward after a good play/home run/etc? If faith helps you stay positive or play better (yes, I realize this point may be moot in this case), I am all for it.

Now, having a chaplain lead the spectators in prayer at the start of the game might be a little much... :)
