It started so promising. I didn't like our draft in April, but soon forgot about it as we rolled into the season 4-0. But it became so obvious to me by game 6 that our draft was part of the problem not the solution and that we would be down right lucky to win another game this year. The Cards acted like they had a small cut and could get by with just putting a band aid on it. Instead the wound just kept opening up more and more. The infection that ensued was just too much for the body to endure.
Well, now we need major surgery. It seems obvious to most. We need to remove the tumors from the front office and head coaching positions. It will take a specialist, along with a miracle or two, to heal from all of this in the near future.
So for 2013, together We will Hope, Dream, and Cheer that the Cards do something they haven't done in a few years, be intelligent and realistic about what it will take to return us to being a playoff caliber team.
Until then, we will remain doing what Card fans do, get excited and enjoy the next 3-4 months more than we do the regular season.
