Colin Klein may be a typical Heisman winning QB. Great college QB, who will suck at worst or be mediocre at best, in the NFL.

Weak QB draft in 2013.

Wilson may be best of a mediocre group.

This is probably true. I agree on Wilson. I think he just looks good next to the guys hes with.

But I would like to burn a late rounder on Collin just to see what hes got. Get Skelton off the roster. Maybe CK will pull a Wilson (seattle) and unsurp Kolb as starer. As long as we use our first 4-5 picks on linemen, they can use the last few for whatever.

OT (Need one)
-Luke Joeckel (Texas A&M)
-Taylor Lewan (Michigan)
-Eric Fisher (Central Michigan)
-Jake Matthews (Texas A&M)
-Dallas Thomas (Tennessee)
-Lane Johnson (Oklahoma)
-David Quessenberry (San Jose St)

OG (go big or go home)
-Chance Warmack (Alabama)
-Jonathan Cooper (North Carolina)

Well if this position is the #1 pick unless we get a real shot at a difference maker behind center I'm all for the local kid Lewan. If he's there he should be the pick. Otherwise Warmack the earth mover. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664410/taylor-lewan

Tyler Wilson is playing on a very bad team this year but he is still Tyler Wilson and will be a first round pick. Most of the writers I view have him in the top three QBs available. He is one tough guy who will stand in the pocket until the last second to get the ball off. Big arm. Accurate even on long throws. Throws a tight spiral. Good size and very smart and a leader. I would take him with my first pick if he is there. I have not seen much of the other QBs but have watched most all his games for the past three years.

Firing HC Bobby Petrino set the program back big time. Not saying that they shouldn't have but Arkansas was potentially a top 10 team and Wilson was their leader.

I respect the heck out of Arkansas for doing that because they couldve been a good team otherwise.

But they did the right thing. Football is a game. Scum bags are scum bags.

If you want to see the flip side: Penn State.

Football > The right thing to do.

That didnt work out for them.

wilson at now doesnt have a status to be a first rounder..rough season for him, never have a game with more then 60% COMPLETE PASSES,he is listed 6'1 7/8.
he's actually had 3 games of over a 70% completion rate this year and this is the only year he has completed less than 60% of his passes on the season, he's sitting at 59.7%, or basically 60%. Couple that with a very high YPA,over 9 ypa this year, his completion % is very impressive. Also, have you ever seen him play? He can make every throw in the book, with ease.

A stat that really surprised me is his passser rating. He's generally considered to be having a down year, yet his passer rating this year, so far, is higher than last year's, 151.7 to 148.4. And that's with a completely new WR corp, a very young OL, and a new HC.

Against Alabama last year-62.9%
LSU-63.6%
Miss St-74.4
K-St- 64.5%
Aub- 66.7%
Tenn- 61.5%
Vandy- 62.8%

playing well against good competition is not a problem for Wilson. For some reason he seems to struggle against Ole Miss and A&M. Of course against A&M last year he only completed 58.8% of his passes but that was for 510 yards and 3 TD's. This year he was 49.2 % but for 373 yards.
Last year against Ole Miss he completed only 46.4% and 0 TD. This year he was 55.8% for 297 yards and 2 TD's.

If those are his bad games, I'll take that to go along with all the good ones.

go ahead and cherry pick a few bad games.

He's a career 62% passer while averaging 8.3 ypa with an almost 2 1/2 : 1 TD to INT rate and playing the vast majority of his games in the SEC. You may not like him but his performance on the field against the top talent in the country just doesn't back up your complaints against him.

Don't look away, but Mike Glennon from NC State is moving up draft boards. He doesn't move too well, but he's huge, makes all the throws, and plays in a pro style offense. He kind of reminds me of Mallet/Brady. Tall pocket passer, does everything well but run with the ball.

The QB class as a whole this year is horrendous(minus maybe the top 3 guys). On the radio yesterday MJ said he talked to a NFL scout from another team and the guy told him that it is so bad if Lindley was in the 2013 draft he would have been a 2 rounder.

So is my boy Matt Scott :cats:

top 10 in many rankings I've seen online. It's gotten to to point that when people talk about Barkley, they make sure they acknowledge Scott being just as effective as a PAC-12 QB.

Of course, I'm not sold on zone read option QBs in the NFL (see: Pat White).

I am of course a homer for Tyler Wilson as I have watched him play neanly every college game. I know little about the QBs in the West. I was impressed by the Kansas QB who passed well and also was good on his feet. I do not know what the gurus think about him.
I suspect we have the worst 3 QBs all on one team in the NFL. To do that takes some real expertise. I would cut them all and sign one of the best I could get in FA and draft two. One might consider keeping Kolb as a backup but he is not going to be able to stay healthy enough to be a starter. You also have to weigh his salary against his playing time as to whether you keep him or not.

It will be interesting to see how this draft unfolds for the Cards.

Gotta think QB, Oline, Pass rusher are the most pressing needs. I was calling for a RB in the last draft and even more so this one. I agree we shouldn't grab one in Rd1 and would prefer we wait until rd 3.

I would like to see an influx of speed added to the offensive side of the ball. We have a ton of speed on the D side of the ball now but the only speedster (for his position) on offense is Housler.

Although Sendlien is solidish and a favorite of the coaches I'm beginning to think we need to upgrade there. Most of the best Olines have a great center, at least that's my perception until others post evidence otherwise. :)

I preface by saying that I don't pay close attention to College ball, but like to take in Alabama. LSU and Irish games. I've been impressed by T'eo, Warmack, the Jones' Barrett & Jarvis and Mingo. Don't know if I'm alone, but, Tyler Wilson's size, athleticism, etc. reminds me of Kevin Kolb.

I would like them to go OLine, but if Manti Te'o is available I would be completely OK with them going that route. That being said I don't believe he will be available when the Cards pick. I am predicting the Cards will win a couple games once they no longer matter.

I would like to see the Cardinals sign McGloin as a UDFA or take a flyer on him in the 6th or 7th round.

Matthew McGloin 251 409 3071 61.4 7.51 23 5 140.6

Played against big time schools in a new offense while losing your top WR and RB not to mention numerous injuries at RB and WR which had him throwing to different players almost on a weekly basis.

Played in the Patriot offense which requires the QB to make reads at the line and adjust plays based on what he reads. Seems to be able to look off the safety and find his 2nd and 3rd options.

I am not saying he is going to turn into an all pro or anything however he has a head start playing in a pro offense which carries a lot of responsibilities for the QB. OF course if he has to play in "The System" then all bets are off.

I am with on Tyler Wilson playing a bit like Kevin Kolb to a point. My draft comparison of Tyler Wilson is Aaron Rodgers when he came out of Cal. Plus arm, good mobility, good accuracy but would struggle with mechanics at times which would make him miss some easy throws. Also both were tough, leaders of their programs.
