No way they would deal Bradley

Well Bradley had a sub par season last year, injuries may have played a part but his numbers in AA & AAA last year showed he was not ready for a jump to the majors.

If Bradley doesn't make the big league roster Opening Day with as many as 3 spots currently open in the rotation maybe ARZ considers dealing him if it would bring in an impact player.

One thing is for sure, he was offered for Kemp & LA said no per numerous sources.

And the Dbacks flatly denied those rumors

They may very well be denying it, but I ask myself why would numerous sources lie or make that up? Then I ask why would ARZ deny publicly that they offered Bradley? Maybe so that they don't want to make his availability public, play it close to their vest and send a message to Bradley that he may not be in their long term plans. Plus, they would really piss off fans saying they want to build the team through their farm, thus trading guys like Montero & Miley but are dangling their top prospect to land an impact player. I guess only LA & ARZ know the truth.

Gambo, who when it comes to this type of stuff is typically very well informed, emphatically confirmed the rumor is not true AND that Bradley remains a huge part of the future for this team.

Being reported that the Dbacks are making a strong push for Scherzer and Shields...

http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/sto...erzer-james-shields-diamondbacks-dave-stewart

Your source? Piecoro says they are deciding if they want to pursue either not both. For all the talk of ARZ trying to get under a $90M payroll this makes no sense. I know they had interest in Shields early but his market is going to increase with Lester off the market and only an expensive Scherzer left in a dried up pitching market. I think main purpose of this is to quell fan's belief that this team is giving up on the 2015 season but the moves they made so far give a clear indication cutting payroll and an extensive rebuilding process that will take years is their plan. At least in theory ticket prices should go down, I won't be paying money until I see some commitment to winning.

Phils deal Rollins with Hamels and Utley also on the block. Trading Rollins is something they needed to do about 2 or 3 years ago and now all the trade did was bring us 2 bags of used baseballs and an old jock strap. I suspect a few more veterans to be gone by spring training. The aforementioned Utley and Hamels and possibly Papelbon as this team is not going to need a closer to win 65-70 games. The real albatross is Howard's $60 million owed. Unless the Phils eat at least 60% of that contract no team will touch him.

These moves will be bitter sweet in that my lifetime as a Phillies fan has brought almost as much heartache as being a Cardinals fan. With only 2 world championships in their 131 years of existence and 10,000+ losses the terms futility and Phillies used to be synonymous. But next to the 1976 team that fell short to the Big Red Machine in the playoffs, the 2008 team was probably the best Phillies team I ever saw. They put to rest the notion that pitching wins championships by winning a title by bashing the living crap out of the ball while having pitchers like Jamie Moyer and Joe Blanton in the starting rotation. But that year is a distant memory as this team is going to be the new Cubs for a while.

I didn't mean both. My bad... Should've said "either or"...

Sources: #Rays have been inquiring about #Padres pitchers RJ Alvarez, Matt Wisler and Burch Smith. Likely discussed in Myers talks.

Hearing #Rays are down to 2 scenarios on Myers trade, waiting to hear if #Nats are in or out.
