He really isn't skilled offensively.

I'm not sure where you get the notion that he isn't skilled offensively. That's completely contrary to every single scouting report out on Stanley. He's a terrific offensive player. Not sure what more you're looking for. 49% FG, 35% from three, 14.2 ppg for a team that spreads the ball around as much as it does. Yes, he can do a better job at finishing strong to the hole and take advantage of his strength, but other than that, he's great.

You're just throwing around inaccurate stats as a reason to say he's great.

They are accurate and prove my point, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

Its not my opinion, it's fact. Those numbers are wrong.

He's shooting 44% not 49% and he's shooting 38% in the half court averaging more TO's than assists. If you think that proves offensive greatness than that is where our opinions differ. To each his own I suppose.

49% from 2, 35% from 3. 45% overall.

I'm not interested in assist to turnover ratio as he's a wing and not a point guard. I'll let McConnell worry about that.

Your point was that he doesn't possess ANY offensive skills, but that's just patently false. Those nonexistent offensive skills you reference are going to make him a Top 5 pick in the draft this year (hint: he's not going to be drafted on defensive prowess).

If you look at conference only which eliminates the cupcakes(and some good teams UA played too obviously), SJ is shooting 43% overall 27 from 3 and putting up just under 14 PPG.

Certainly not bad but he's definitely not been great.

I always said of him in HS he just physically overpowers guys, when he gets to college that won't happen. He still does do it but not as easily. He got better, he went from a kid I didn't want at UCLA to a kid I did want his last year of HS.

He's a more skilled offensive player than Gordon was, I think his biggest issue is Gordon was so unselfish, SJ isn't, and Gordon was such an insanely good defender. Stanley is a very good rebounder for his position and seems to get 2 of those jump the passing lane steals a game, usually at key moments. Very good player, I think TJ is the MVP for UA.

I think the surprise for UA in conference in a bad way has been Rondae, still a very good player but I suspect he's played his way out of the lottery with his shooting issues.

York has been a major surprise to me, much better than I expected he'd be this year.

I don't think that's going to be good news with Rondae. Hopefully it's not a torn biceps muscle or something like that, we'd be a far different team without him.

Unless something changes when he's getting dressed, Rondae is just fine

I hope he's right. It looked like it was non-contact which is always a little scary.

All insiders, Sean Miller, and Rondae himself are stating that Rondae is just fine.

Off the ledge, folks.

T.J. McConnell had some really sick assists yesterday. He is peaking right now.

Virginia went down and Duke is in a battle with UNC. I think only Kentucky and Wisconsin are #1 locks atm.

Virginia is a lock, too, unless they lose in the first round of the ACC tourney.

If I had my choice of #1 seeds to play in the E8 I'd like the matchup against Virginia or Nova. Would like to avoid Duke or Wisky until the FF should it happen. I don't think Arizona and Gonzaga will be in the same bracket.

Virginia may get Anderson back by tournament time. I like that matchup still, but would rather have Villanova.

I was up all night so I passed the time by re-watching our recent games against Cal and Stanford. Lots of fun but one thing stands out to me. I think I'm going to miss TJ as much as any player I can remember. And I never saw it coming when he transferred in from Duquesne.

You're not the only one Steve. Like you, I never expected it when he transferred. The passion and love the kid has is palpable.

Coach of the year - Dana Altman over Larry K and Miller

Defensive Player of the Year - Gary Payton II over Rondae

Yep. Makes sense.

TJ is the best PG UofA has had since Gardner. He has many Steve Nash qualities I love including elite court vision, penetration, and leadership skills. Cant shoot like him, but defends much better.

He can't shoot like Nash but he has really improved his mid-range game which makes him so dangerous. I think he's our best point guard since Bibby/Terry and I loved Gardner.

Losing POY I can see, losing out on COY I can see and losing out on DPOY isn't a shocker. But losing out on all 3??? That is a shocker and screams pettiness IMO. You could easily make the case we should have won all 3.
