Dupree had a pick 6 to help win the game vs South Carolina. Good athlete on the edge.

Odig got a sack

Shilique got a sack as did Taiwan Jones.

Good week for some guys.

I still would be shocked if we don't go Shaq Thompson in round 1. Seems like both a system fit as well as a fit for what Keim seems to draft. Safe pick. Good athlete. Not sure if he is a team captain. The other option is Benardrick McKinney though I have to get a better feel for his speed to run a chase. I think he is a step slower at this point than Shaq, but he is also 15 lbs heavier. Instincts are key, and I can't judge who is better in that regard.
I have to watch a bit more of the games I have recorded.

Odigizuwa was all over the field, he was probably the only UCLA defender that had a good game against Utah. He was in the backfield the whole game.

I like Shaq Thompson too but like Myles Jack I fear playing him on offense is going to limit his development on defense.

First, I would love for the Cards to get a guy like Odig and put him in that John Abraham tyep role, but they might want to let Martin keep developing.

Second, Thompson can learn when he gets in the pros. He is fast, he strikes, and he makes plays. a lot of coverage experience which we need. I love the idea of getting him in this defense.

Add Nate Orchard Utah 6'4 255. Has experience as a stand up end. 4 sacks vs UCLA.

Week 7

Alvin Dupree had a big week, and he should have playing against lower talent. 2 sacks and a blocked FG.

Shilique Calhoun got a sack

Shaq Thompson had another defensive TD on a fumble return for 100 yards. He just keeps making big plays, and is used a bunch in coverage.

Beasley had a couple pass breakups which is a nice sign as a team that would move him inside.

Fowler had another sack.

Benardrick McKinney is an interesting player because he is used so much in coverage. He is a bigger guy, and I thought he would used more as a pass rusher in passing downs. Instead he is used a ton in middle zone coverage. Nice deep drops. Again, something the Cardinals will be looking for out of ILB prospects.

3 of those were because Hundley is so bad against the rush. he was in the backfield often but Hundley has an uncanny ability to find the pass rush and get sacked.

Mizzu OLB/DE Shane Ray moved up to #5 on McShay's big board. Not a sleeper anymore.

Leonard Floyd from Georgia is rising too. I think he's more in the area we'll be picking.

Ray, Beasley, Fowler and Gregory should all go top-20. Lookout for another Washington OLB/DE Hau'oli Kikaha. The Huskies could have 3-4 players on defense go in the first round.

I think Beasley is going to go lower than what people think. I think he'll still be a 1st rounder but probably go somewhere in the 20's.

It's hard to predict so far out but with a demand in the NFL for pass rushers he could go anywhere, especially if a team is willing to move up to get him. Look at Marcus Smith taken by PHI in Round 1 this year, the guy was slated for Round 2 at best but PHI didn't want to take the chance on hoping to land him in Round 2 because he probably wouldn't be there so they took him a round early to secure him. SD traded up to steal Attaochu from ARZ potentially as ARZ was known to be looking for a pass rusher.

yes,and he is the pass rusher we need most.
i will think about also erik striker as a second rounder and playing him at ilb with washington ,making the faster pair of ilb in the nfl, striker can be like bobby wagner.
orchard didnt have a great day just against ucla he was unstoppable all season so far,6 games 10,5 sacks ,sack leader in the ncca

Most places I've looked have Gregory, Williams, and Fowler ahead of him and there are some other guys rising.

Beasley being only 6'2 and 235 is going to hurt him come draft day.

His size may relegate him to being more of a 4-3 outside backer than a 3-4 OLB. In the 3-4, the OLB is the team's primary pass rusher while the 3 down linemen eat five blocks and defend the run. 6'2", 235 is punter sized.

Second coming of Karlos Dansby. Similar build ( a bit heavier than Los) and similar all around game. Super athletic kid. Same questions about his intensity, but he sure produces at a very high level.

He could last in the draft because like Los, he doesn't fit neatly into a box of what a typical OLB or MLB ( for most teams) should look or play like. Given his build, you think edge guy. But he plays inside, but doesn't play the typical down hill thumper game.

Mizzou has a pair of guys who have the build, speed, athleticism you look for on the edge, and thus far, the production: Shane Ray is the better regarded player, Marcus Golden the other

Both are in the 6-3, 250-ish range.

i think golden has more quickness then ray who has a high motor( shaugnessy type of player).
we need speed off the edge

True the ceiling on Gregory is sky high. If be fine swapping one giving up a 3 and a Future 3 to move up for Gregory

Yeah I know probably not.

Von Miller with another sack tonight. That's tonight. Man that one guy that can dominate of the edge just opens up everything else

von miller had the same size of beasley in his last year at college.
we need speed very bad from the edge.
getting a player like beasley and daryl washington back could make this defense dominate like the last season.
i hope we can get also a taller and faster free safety

Remember, Miller plays OLB in a 4-3 defense, so he is protected which he wouldn't be in a 3-4. Beasley would have similar issues. He would need to play ILB in base and DE in sub.

watching them play looks more like a 3--4 defense.
in several snaps he play opposite demarcus ware in the same role
