Cross Noah Spence off the list. He failed a second drug test and is out(at least for this year) at OSU. He likes the Molly from what I hear.

On the flip side, if he finds himself sliding into the 4th round he suddenly becomes worth the gamble.

I'm not a fan of taking guys who can't stay out of trouble, especially after DWash, but if we can't get a high draft pick taking gambles on questionable guys is our only real chance at a pass rush stud.

Probably too small for the NFL but Eric Kendricks is a terrific college LB. More of an inside than OLB. Myles Jack is the better pro prospect but I'm not convinced Kendricks isn't the better player right now

Kendricks seems similarly sized to Daryl Washington and looks to have the same body type. I think any LB over 225 could fit at one of the ILB spots so long as they have exceptional speed and burst.

Fowler looked real good for Florida this weekend.

AJ Johnson may be a bit slower than I thought for Tennessee.

I really like Perryman, but I am unsure if he will be around in round 2.

DE may be a first round option as Armstead and Oakman are legit.

Leonard Williams for USC is a beast. Doubt we have a shot at him or would give up what it will take to move up.

I am surprised Vic Beasley isn't being discussed. A little light at 235 but has 15 pounds on Eric Striker whom I think will struggle in the NFL unless he puts on some serious weight, sure he has speed off the edge but there are NFL RB's bigger than him.

Back to Beasley, all he does is get to the QB, 20 sacks the last 2 years, 2 in the first 2 games this year. Hopefully, ARZ is in position to draft him or Shilique Calhoun. No more waiting until the later rounds to address this glaring need.

re: Beasley...I don't believe we will be in a position to take him. I don't see him getting out of the top 12.

some comments...

1-Eli Harold looked pretty good vs Louisville. Looks like a natural pass rusher which is what we need. OK size 6'4 235, but he project to a Bruce Irvin role for the Cards.

2-Two undersized guys to not discount are Shaq Thompson (Washington) and Eric Kendricks (UCLA). Both are close to Daryl Washington's size, and seem to have a speed element to their game which we are missing. Thompson moreso than Kendricks.

3-Dante Folwer flashed for Florida, and was pretty much living behind the LOS. Good size at 6'2 261, and looks pretty fluid as an athlete.

in the all-around ( vs the run, in coverage, can blitz) OLB types ( not hybrid DEs who rush the passer):

Zach Hodges, Harvard (yes, Harvard). 6-3, 250. Smart (duh), intense, can do it all. 2nd rounder as of now

Tony Washington, Oregon. 6-3 240. another all around, super athletic guy

Bendardrick McKinney, Miss St 6-4, 250. Super athlete. 1st round size, speed, etc. Knock is he relies on speed and ability to rush, cover etc -- very raw technique wise

Eli Harold looking good again today.

Dante Fowler Jr. really looks the part of what the Cardinals look like at OLB. Also could play DE in nickel. Guy has a good motor, can play physical, and runs the arc well.

I am interested in watching LSU vs Miss St tonight.

Man Beasley is fast off that edge he went right around that FSU tackle for the sack. Doesn't really play the run all that well but he can get after the QB

Finito, that is what (pass rush) we need.

right ,i don t care if he is a little bit undersize,we need speed off the edge.
there is a good group of pass rushers next draft.
beasley or golden could be very good pick for us.
but i feel is the time to move up.
i heard last draft arizona tried to move up for anthony barr

Another guy I been reading about is OLB Lorenzo Mauldin from LOU. First off, his background story is pretty amazing to where you have to root for the kid. Was suppose to go to SC but grades were an issue and Spurrier gave his schollie to someone else...Mauldin claims it went to none other than Jadeavon Clowney. Mauldin's numbers last year were really good but he decided to return to LOU for his SR year. Listed at 6'3 - 6'4, 244 so he has decent size for an OLB, he's bigger than Beasley. Don't get me wrong, I would love for ARZ to get Beasley but his stock is going to sky rocket to where unless ARZ is in the Top 3 - 5, they won't have a chance at either him or Calhoun. Mauldin is considered a borderline 1st / early 2nd rounder but with a premium put on pass rushers he will probably go earlier than expected.

Beasley all over the place last night I was very impressed. Ended with two sacks, one ball batted down and a handful of pressures. Great speed great hands and has a few moves. He showed a great spin move that led to one of his teammates getting the sack.

You look at this defense CC, Williams, Minter, Peterson, Mathuie and Bucannon. You have young players at every level I don't care what you need to do you move up and get that pass rushers that can make this defense special.

Shaq Thompson showed yesterday why I believe he will be a favorite to be drafted by the Cardinals. Forced a fumble with a violent hit. Strip and returned for a TD. PLayed a ton of coverage. Ran around the field. Perfect fit to replace Washington.

Alvin Dupree had 1.5 sacks yesterday I believe. He is a freak athlete who needs to show a bit more consistently. Is the perfect size for our elephant rusher position, and is athletic to play a little 3-4 OLB.

Kendricks is the real deal, his instincts are second to none and he plays the run and pass very well. He reminds me of a more physical Pat Tillman. I think he fits at ILB, but if not maybe he could play safety. I think he will make it in the NFL with someone, hope it is the Cards.

fun potential sleeper...

Oregon St.'s DE Obum Gwacham. Had another sack this week vs USC. A former track guy and WR, the 6'5 237 has shown a pretty fluid transition from WR to DE. Someone to watch who will rise throughout the process especially for 3-4 teams.

I doubt he'd make it to the 4th round. He's much too talented and the new CBA changes seems to de-emphasize recreational drug use. But, you're right, he'd be definitely worth it in round 4. I'd take him in round 2.

He doesn't seem like a bad kid, he just needs to grow up. Right now, he's the definition of a guy who wants to have too much fun.

Add Marcus Peters, CB, Washington to the list. Something to consider with Powers cap number being 5 mil next year, and if Cro doesn't sign an extension. Larger, physical press corner with some ball skills.

LOL. I jumped my own thread. Not a LB, just an option to watch.

Never too early for draft analysis

Ill be posting a mock (yeah thats right, Oct Mock en route) this week

AS far as pass rushers:

Vic Beezy is obviously the top guy (that we might have a chance at), but that also means he will be out of our reach. Id love to have him but he has red flags. Not great in run D. Once he gets stopped, hes basically stopped, he cant fight off T's. Not alot of pass D experience,

However, when he gets the edge, hes one of the best. Speed rushers are the pass rush kings in the NFL, and thats what he can be.

This Shaq Thompson is really helping himself out this year. I dont think hes truly a 1st rounder, but he will go 1st round for sure. Reminds me of Kyle Van Noy (who went 2nd last year). Not elite at anything, but a swiss army knife who does everything very well. Shaq is a converted safety to OLB, so hes basically our Deone Buccannon.

I too like Eli Harold. Hes a try-hard whos not the fastest guy, but he makes a difference by being a dog out there. Mid 2nd-3rd rounder.

A name Ive really started to watch is Shane Ray. EXPLOSIVE off the line, but still raw. He might very well be our best option if we are picking in the 20s

Dante Fowler, currently DE convert, out of Florida is a straight baller with a mean streak. Big dude with athleticism to spare. Keep an eye on him. He reminds me of his Florida compatriot Dominique Easley, who went to the Patriots last year round 1.

Im not sure if hes OLB material, might just be a DE, but Shawn Oakman will prob get a look. All of 6'9 and strong as an Ox. You cant teach that kind of length. Red flag is hes not a bad kid, but he does have a troubled background. But so did Darnell and Tyrann.

Edit - I didnt mention Gregory because whats the point? Hes gone as gone can be. Guys outstanding.

Early on I really liked Calhoun, and Id surely still take him, but he needs to improve his run D substantially.

Dupree had a pick 6 to help win the game vs South Carolina. Good athlete on the edge.

Odig got a sack

Shilique got a sack as did Taiwan Jones.

Good week for some guys.

I still would be shocked if we don't go Shaq Thompson in round 1. Seems like both a system fit as well as a fit for what Keim seems to draft. Safe pick. Good athlete. Not sure if he is a team captain. The other option is Benardrick McKinney though I have to get a better feel for his speed to run a chase. I think he is a step slower at this point than Shaq, but he is also 15 lbs heavier. Instincts are key, and I can't judge who is better in that regard.
I have to watch a bit more of the games I have recorded.

Like Lorenzo Mauldin.I think Round 2.He can bring it after the QB.
