1- Nate Orchard - OLB - Utah - sacks on sacks. His drivers license lists his permanent address as "backfield".

2- Garrett Grayson - QB - Colorado State. No QB is a sure thing. From what I see, I like him. Accurate, strong arm, good decisions. A character.

3- Senquez Golson - CB- Ole Miss. I love twitchy, aggressive, ultra productive little slot DBs. Jason Verrett Last year. Senquez this year.

4- Brandon Vitabile - C - Northwestern. We need a upgrade a Center. This guy is small(er) school, but highly decorated.

5- Dadi Nicolas - OLB - VT. Lightning fast. Speed rushers are king in this league. This guy is the Flash. But hes slight. Thats why we get him late.

6- Rob Havenstein - OT - Wisconsin. Heres what you do: Take an extremely powerful, subpar Tackle, stick him at Guard- boom, road grading dominant G.

7- Marcus Rush - OLB - Michigan State. His name is Marcus RUSH. Dont ignore the signs.

I tried to have 7 new players for this mock, but Nate was a sore thumb bpa. I cant take Markus Golden #1 if Nate is available. Hes just clearly the best possible pass rusher we can take in late round 1. His draft slot is all over the place depending on where you look. Personally, I made the opinion hes a 1st rounder by looking at his game tape. Much like Bucannon (whos turned into a great late 1st rnd pick), I think Nate is a gem.

We need a young QBOTF. Logan isnt it. And we cant keep taking Qbs in the mid-lates, hoping we get lucky and snag a Tom Brady. You must invest in an early rounder to improve your odds of angling a big fish. 2nd rounder sounds fair to me. Garrett Grayson is a small school guy, but he has all the tools to be a franchise QB. You dont know till you know, QBs are a shot in the dark, but hes my choice.

Golson, Vitabile and Nicolas have gem potential. I dont know which, but I like all of them.

Cliffs:
- 3 pass rushers
- 2 O line
- 1 DB
- 1 Franchise QB

As for QB, I have been on Carden from E Carolina. However, just yesterday I received a text saying to select another QB and that Carden "was not that hot". He must've scouted him in person recently and came away un-impressed.

With the draft, I think RB has to be in the mix at some point.

Nice job. Early mocks are just about creating ideas. I agree with the possible desire to upgrade at QB, C, CB, OLB and OL. I think we have greater needs, and I'm not sure about some of those spots later in the draft, but FA will change a ton for this team.

It's not so much that I disagree with your RB comment, as it is that I feel that Kerwynn Williams, (teamed with a healthy Andre Ellington), is a real good 1-2 tandem at that position. Both are solid starters. Both are excellent receivers. Both are excellent character people. To me that spells win, win, win!!!

I like Cameron Erving from FSU that kid is a monster at C or G in the late first round. Maybe a guy like Kikaha slips due to past injury in the second or an Eric Striker because of his size will be there both devastating OLB

I was high on Carden for awhile, but ive also cooled. Reports are iffy on him.

Whereas Grayson isnt perfect, his reports are consistently positive. I saw a couple vid of his games and he looks like a steady eddy.

Erving has been a Center for 9 or so games. While hes done very well, I dont know if I want my NFL Center to have 9 college games to his career at that position.

Kikaha doesnt seem fast enough or strong enough to me. Alot of his sacks fall into his lap. And the injury history also worries me.

I like Striker. Id def take him.

Situational OLB.

Hes a smidge bigger than Deone. He used to be a safety, in fact. I see his value as being a pure pass situation pass rusher + special teamer. Extremely fast, can pair up with Bethel and help our special teams coverage.

Personally, despite being undersized also, I think Dadi Nicolas has the ability to be a starter. His run D is respectable enough. His value is as a pass rusher. I dont know how he is in coverage.

The reason I would not be shocked if the Cards took a C like Erving is if they feel he brings a physical element that we are lacking. IMO, the reason the Cards would take a C in the draft would be if they want that specific ability.

Both of those players would be ILBs in our base defense.

I believe if the Cardinals add a RB in the offseason, it is to add a more physical player in the run game, and a more physical pass blocker on 3rd down. Jeremy Langford out of Michigan St. is a name I would look for in the 3rd or 4th round of the draft.

Erving would be the only real overpowering C available in this draft. The highest rated Cs are Hroniss Grasu and Reese Dismukes, neither are overly powerful. Both are good technicians. So youre putting yourself in a corner where Erving is the only choice if they purely want a dominating run blocker in the middle.

In which case he would be a good pick, but I srsly worry about his lack of experience at Center. Centers run the line and make all the calls. He might have the muscle, but whos to say he has the smarts or leadership.

Id like to see him play 1 full season at C first. His flexibility as an emergency tackle is very appealing, however.

Like I said, if they take a C, I believe they will take Erving because he is the only guy who offers something different. I don't believe they will, but it is a possibility with where they will be drafting.

Like Bohda's draft but mine would go:

1 - OLB Nate Orchard - Fills a big need without having to trade up.

2 - CB Marcus Peters - Cro is gone, Peters slides in. HB & PP keep him in line. Talent outweighs risk IMO.

3 - QB Bryce Petty - QBOF, very productive. Not a big arm but arguable 4th best QB in draft behind Marriota, Winston & Hundley.

4 - ILB AJ Tarpley - Need to add a ILB as Foote will probably not be back and Washington's status uncertain

5 - DE Harry Anderson - 3-4 DE size with some pass rush skills.

6 - C Jake Smith - Sendlein is getting old and Smith could replace him soon.

7 - RB Malcolm Brown - 220 LB RB to complement AE.

ARZ could add another pass rusher and OL depth if they can get DD & Fitz to restructure and free up some cash.

1)no chance
this organization will not draft a player who tried to strangle his own coach

2)i dont think this is the right ranking about qbs

I would really like to add Shaq Thompson. He would be the perfect fit for what we are using Deone Bucannon for.

Dynamic, speed LB who can cover, blitz, and force turnovers. I think he would be special in our scheme, and would produce 7 sacks, 3 ints, and a few TDs every year from him alone.

He's too small to play ILB in the NFL. He looks like a safety. ESPN.com lists him at 6'1", 228, and generally teams overstate the size of their student-athletes.

To be successful in the NFL, he'll have to gain 15-25 lbs of muscle without losing that speed that makes him special, and that just doesn't happen.

Also, he's a one-year starter. If he were so good, why wasn't he able to get on the field earlier for a terrible program like Washington?

***Not sure where you are getting the one year starter info. PLayed nickel back as a true freshman, and started as a true sophmore. I like him in the WILB role though he is on the fringe low end in terms of size if what is posted is correct. He is a combine watch to verify size.

Kikaha played with his hand in the dirt being a traditional 4-3 defensive end last year and had 12 sacks this year they switched to a 3-4 he played OLB standing up and got 19 sacks this season. Yeah that's allot of sacks just falling into his lap. That's a guy that can flat out get to the QB

Erving was considered a 1/2 round talent at left tackle this season he's been moved inside due to need and has flat out been scary dominate especially in the running game

***Not sure where you are getting the one year starter info. PLayed nickel back as a true freshman, and started as a true sophmore. I like him in the WILB role though he is on the fringe low end in terms of size if what is posted is correct. He is a combine watch to verify size.

He's gonna go in the mid teens no way he is there when we draft plus he's not what we need

Agree he goes top 20, but disagree that he isn't what we need. Heads and shoulders better than Foote and Minter, can cover and blitz. Every defense needs athletic playmakers.

The reason I would not be shocked if the Cards took a C like Erving is if they feel he brings a physical element that we are lacking. IMO, the reason the Cards would take a C in the draft would be if they want that specific ability.

I'm thinking about what the Cowboys have accomplished by upgrading the OL.

They took Fredrickson late 1st a couple yrs. ago. Paired with Zach Martin they are both physical in the run game and have upgraded the interior pass pro very well also.

I'd be happy with OL or the pass rusher #1. Would really have liked J. Attouchou
Last yr. , but Deonne B. has been solid.

But RT and RG are two areas where I'd like to have improvement.

CB, QB, RB, OLB, ILB.

My question is does Kareem Martin have the athleticism to handle OLB on obvious passing downs? It could free him up some more than playing along the DL. A Bertrand Berry type of utilization.

FA is going to determine a lot of what we do in the draft. If the Cards put themselves in an area to focus on the offense early in the draft, I don't believe an offensive lineman would be out of the question.

Le'al Collins out of LSU would be a great fit, could start at RG, and move to RT if we can't/don't re-sign Massie. Collins is a physical beast in the running game, and is a college LT which speaks to his overall athleticism. He would instantly give us more push on the right side.

Ty Sambrillo out of Colorado St is a similar type player, and might be had in a trade down or could fall to the 2nd round.

Cameron Erving if we really wanted to improve our physicality at the C position.

Also, using a 3rd or 4th round pick on a RB like David Cobb or Tevin Coleman would bring a little more of a physical element to our running game.

What is funny is that for all of the lamenting regarding our offense, all folks talk about is drafting defensive players and filling defensive needs. I agree with some of those ideas, but it is still interesting.

I have wanted us to draft a true elite pass rusher for over a decade now. Okafor is doing well but imagine teaming him we another huge threat.

Having said that shoring up our improving Oline interests me as well. I'd prefer a LT who can start off at RT or even OG. This allows for insurance at the LT position in case of injury :stick: plus I fantasize about the Hulk at RT because we have an even better option at LT.

Don't misunderstand, Veldheer deserves a Pro Bowl invite this year IMO and while Massie hasn't been great he has been mostly good. I'm just wanting a dominant Oline like we had in the 70's when I first started rooting for the Cards.

We need to add an ILBer who has the same skill set as DWashout.

RB with some bulk.

A CB to develop.

An OC for the future and yes I'd love to improve our size and strength at the position.

Niklas should be good and Fells seems to be developing and Carlson gets rave reviews from teammates and coaches but we could use an upgrade.
