Stay padding happens when your on a losing team going nowhere. When a guy is averaging a triple double on a team that is 28-19 and the 6th seed in the west. That's called carrying a team on his back.

Most triple double earned are stat padded. Teams are clearing out trying to get that player the 10th rebound, or he is over passing trying to get the last assist.

or maybe he's got nothing else on the team and is literally doing EVERYTHING he can to win. And considering they're record is something like 16-7 while getting the triple double, and .500 in the rest, doesn't seem like it's stat padding to me as much as doing what it takes to win.

Sounds like you don't know that Durant is now with GSW... OKC doesn't have anyone who can be referenced without a name besides Westbrook

Everybody says that but...I know he's not perfect but who do I have to kill to get Steven Adams on the Suns?

The Suns had their chance in 2013. I know some on this board were very high on Steven Adams.

We agree on this. I'm not a huge Westbrook fan but give the man credit, the Thunder would be nowhere without him.

Yeah, I know I wasn't one of them. I had read some bad reports on him but now he's the player that gets called "the one you really hate unless he plays for your own team". Usually when they say that, I laugh and count my blessings he isn't on the Suns but with Adams, I really wish he were.

Adams plays for keep. I agree he is the type player you want on your team.

To sort of change the subject, I need for the Suns to make a trade. This pretending the Suns are a playoff team is driving me crazy. The Suns need to do something dramatic to give the Suns a future other than bring another tutor on board in Ronnie Price.

Although I am not a proponent of trading for Marcus Cousins the idea got me excited. The rumor had the Suns trading Brandon Knight, Dragan Bender and two 1st round picks for Cousins. This would be a no-go for me because Cousins would likely walk after a season.

I guess the most logical thought would have the Suns losing (tanking) the rest of the season and picking up another good draft pick, then doing a major trade this summer.

As I recall you have been a proponent of the Suns trading veterans to get assets. I'm not against this as long as long as it gets the Suns in position to turn the corner.

Who's pretending the Suns are a playoff team? They've actually done plenty to give themselves a bright future. We have a team full of young talent and I mean really young talent. Booker, Warren, Chriss and Bender are all very promising young players.

However I trade anyone not named Booker for Cousins. Especially if Knight is going. Bleadsoe, Wall and Cousins are all really good friends and they have made it no secret they would all like to play with eachother. I don't really want Wall and we don't need him with Booker already here but I think Boogie would be on board

Until recently the Suns were not far out of the 8th playoff space in the West. Even now they are only about 6.5 games out. The Suns FO needs to get out of the mathematical illusion they can make the playoffs. They need to build for next season and try to acquire another draft pick in the upcoming draft by making a trade or two.

I wish I shared your enthusiasm about acquiring Cousins but I think, if traded, he would want to go to a bigger market. Anyway, I'm ready to look at all options.

Cmon. They are just playing. They aren't under any illusions. These people aren't stupid.

Lets not say the people are stupid, but whoever has decided to play guys so elderly that they will have little to no impact on our future instead of playing the ones who will or may have such impact, while at the same time lessening our chance at a high draft pick, is doing something that is stupid. I don't know, maybe they are stupid... it's like they don't realize that playing time in games gives you information you can get no other way and which one needs to make the best personnel decisions. If you don't know that then you're incompetent to make such decisions. Perhaps your name is Sarver...

All I know is what I read and hear about the Suns. Until recently the Suns were still talking about making a run at the playoffs. The Suns last loss to Denver may have given them a wake-up call. However, if the Suns win tonight against Denver I worry this tune may start to play again. The Suns need to forget this season and prepare for the draft and free agency this summer.

Ryan said, in his weekly Wednesday morning radio interview (prior to the loss in Denver), that the next 12 games would decide which way they go. So yes, they are still holding out some hope that they can contend for a playoff spot. I doubt that Ryan really expects it to happen but it's pretty much in his job description to at least consider and prepare for the possibility.

If this was a typical season and we were only a few games out of the playoffs, I'd be okay with that approach too. I do believe there is value in being competitive and earning your way into the playoffs and there's even value in getting trounced in the first round once you make it there. But this season, pulling into that 8th spot might only take 37 wins or so and I don't see that as a stepping stone worth sacrificing a high pick for.

Hopefully, we'll lose at least 7 of the remaining 11 the Gm was referring to. And once that happens they'll go back to focusing more on the long term future of this team.

I hope McDonough is not holding off on making a trade(s) because of what may happen over the next 11 games. IMO, it's fools gold to consider making the playoffs this season even if the Suns piece together some wins. Now next season is another matter.

Joel Embiid is something else. He showed on national TV his all around game.

Many are saying he's the best rookie since LeBron and honestly that could be true. Other than injuries, this kid literally has no weaknesses.

And a very likable personality too.

Sam Hinkie has to feel proud somewhere. If you're a team like Sacramento, New York or Brooklyn, they really should think about hiring Hinkie as GM or President of basketball operations or something. Had Philly waited till after this season when Hinkie's most favorite picks Embiid and Saric were to debut, I think he would have remained in Philly and Bryan Colangelo would've remained unemployed.

It sounds like a Robert Sarver move. Push for the playoffs at all costs.
