I was primed for the Cardinal to draft a QB at #13 (Watson) so it took me some time to adjust. That said, I like what I have read about Reddick. He seems like a solid pick. I like his athleticism.

I feel much better than after the Cardinals drafted Nkemdiche.

He will knock the snot out of people - quickly! Just like Dbuc is a safety/lb hybrid - Hred is a hard hitting MLB that is able to cover - I liked the red tie and his feeling cards would pick him! Plus he is already in umuiform cause he haas on red dick!

Keim talked about Reddick in his pre-draft press conference.

"The thing that Reddick does that is so uncanny, and I’ve seen very few guys do over the years, they play that pass-rusher kind of mold but can then play stacked as a linebacker," Keim said. "Those reads are so different and he went down to the Senior Bowl and did that as well as I’ve seen anyone make that transition. So he has huge upside and is another guy who has a tremendous chip on his shoulder.”

What this tells me about Keim:

The "he is just misunderstood" experiments are over, at least in round 1. See R. Nkemdiche.

Another pass rusher, even one lined up at ILB, was a priority. The A gap blitz is back.

He wanted more speed and athleticism in the middle of the field. See: a departed Kevin Minter

Premium on character again.

Certainly a talented athlete. I'm worried about his ability to cover on the outside and also to diagnose the play. He should be fine with a year or two experience. I just don't think he's the game changer Foster would have been.

Our LB group went from the biggest weakness on our team from 2-3 years ago to our biggest strength.

I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY with this pick! I did NOT want a QB in the first round. I wanted a pass rusher! We got us a pass rusher! I wanted Defense and we got defense. We let a lot of pass rush walk out the door. This helps get it back. Speed, baby. You cannot coach speed! :)

If anyone thinks the Cards goofed on the pick, then please include a majority of the other teams which also passed on Foster and Hooker and call them idiots too and express your disgust for the other front offices. There are reasons guys drop, and I like the Reddick selection personally and he is hardly a tweener in my opinion

I believe Reddick was the second fastest LB in the draft!

I had 4 players I wanted at this pick and he was one. I cannot complain.

I loved Hooker but the reality is finding LBs with a 4.5 speed (who said he was slower than Washington???) are much harder to find than safeties.

Meh. Hopefully 2- 7 contains some firepower on offense.
NO!!!! I am looking all defensive draft! LOL. I know we will probably pick up OL somewhere and may a QB. We need a CB with the second pick I am hoping!!

WTF? Seriously, WTF? With the players available, THIS is the pick? Have we not learned our lesson? SMH Keim still trying to be the smartest guy in the draft by overdrafting the project. I mean, seriously, that's three years in a row.

If the cards had him n their top 15, they eed to re-address how they build a draft board

AGREED!

The "he is just misunderstood" experiment is gone, but the "he's a project without a position" experiment has now begun. What a frickin' headache.

Sub packages? Depth? WTF? People are happy we drafted someone 13th overall that we can immediately use for SUB PACKAGES AND DEPTH? How about IMMEDIATE EFFING STARTING IMPACT FROM OUR FIRST ROUND PICK FOR ONCE!!!

Keim and co. were served up several softball pitches in a row, right in the middle of the plate, and decided to bunt.

For me this pick was disappointing because of who was available on the board. Foster, Hooker and OJ Howard were better prospects IMO. I don't love taking players in round 1 who aren't able to play that position in the pros. I'm also not excited about a LB who isn't an explosive tackler. People will point to Deone Bucannon to back this pick and for me it does the exact opposite. That being said, I think Reddick will be an ok pro. I just don't see him being a special player.

Yes, thank you. THANK YOU! Thank you for explaining, in a calm and intelligent manner, what I've been saying in a disbelieving, pissed-off way.

If Hooker hadn't followed almost immediately, maybe I'd be with you that there was something we don't know. I didn't want Foster at all. We got screwed on a QB. At least I don't have to be bitter we passed on one.

I give them benefit of the doubt on this one because teams watch tape, see the player live at Pro Bowl and Combine, we don't know if scouting department was high on this guy, also they talk and interview guys, plus see how they fit your scheme. There's a lot we as fans do not know going into a pick. We see mocks. etc., and believe guy are value at certain picks. We have a lot less information on guys than teams do. It boils down to do you trust your GM?
