Metu really improved his shooting last year, he's a weird one. He needs to get stronger, and for all his shot blocking, he needs to improve on defense, last year he could not guard his own man. His blocks are all from the weakside, when UCLA played them last year Welsh just ate him up, and Welsh is not particularly strong himself.

Very athletic kid though

As of this moment. Suns pick is in the #5 position and Milwaukee is in #14. Cleveland should move ahead of Milwaukee. I think OKC should too. But there some teams that Milwaukee should overtake. That Milwaukee team needs to have the wheels come off somewhere around the all-star break.

Lonzo had his second good game - against the Bucks last night - and against Bledsoe again! Bled had a poor game all around but Milw still won. They won't win a ton with Eric playing like that but I think he'll play at his normal level most nights and give them a boost. I guess I'd have to admit he is a candidate for the wheel that comes off...

I suspect OKC is what their record indicates. Trading for Carmelo was a serious blunder. He doesn't defend, he can't play off the ball, he does not facilitate. George is at least a premier defender who contributes all over, Carmelo doesn't do crap except score from isolation at mid-range... the least valuable area of the court.

I think they're a .500 team.

I sure hope not. But I agree with you about Melo. He is the most over rated NBA player of the last decade.

It will be interesting to watch the pg's this year. There are several upper classmen that are good too, and might give us more of an immediate impact. They will probably be available with a second round pick. I think we might have one or two of those.

He's good but counting his stats now is just pointless they are so overmatching their opponents he'd have to be blind to not be putting up big assist numbers.

Bagley is going to be a star but even his stats are inflated so far, almost all dunks or layups because Duke is so good.

Duval is not a good shooter, he's a great athlete, very strong, but I don't think he's on the same level as the PG's that are rookies this year.

The more I see Ayton he's a phenomenal shooter for his size. He's a bit awkward around the rim, fumbles easy passes, but when he's got his feet set and goes up he's unstoppable. he caught a lob today and damn near broke the backboard he pulled the rim down so powerfully. Also had a putback dunk that was awe inspiring.

He's not as fluid as Bagley and I suspect I'd still probably pick Bagley ahead of him but it's a legitimate debate it's not obvious.

I would love to see him and bamba go head to head, he's a better overall player but when they went up against each other in HS Bamba gave him fits at times blocking his shot, would be interesting to see how far Ayton has come now that he's much stronger.

They do play TAMU but it's not clear if Robert Williams will be reinstated by then or not, he's about the only guy Ayton is going to play against in OOC that can test him.

A&M suspended him two games so he'll be back soon. They clobbered WVU without him so that could end up being a top-15 team by then. USC also plays them 11/26.

Without Ayton's FT shooting and rebounding dominance I wouldn't be surprised if he's a 20/10 guy with 2-3 blocks. Not that blocks determine quality defense but Bagley has none in 61 minutes. Jaren Jackson from MSU is getting a lot of hype as a top-10 pick right now.

Arizona will beat TAMU but it will be interesting to see how Davis and Williams fare against Ayton and Ristic, it will probably be the only test you guys see until conference in terms of bigs.

He should block more shots than he does, I keep reading he's more raw on offense than defense I think the exact opposite is true, terrific offensive player, great rebounder, developing defender. Miller will help him immensely in that regard.

The Duke stuff I've seen they're just such a big team that Bagley is often guarding smaller guys away from the basket . It's impossible to judge him so far because the opposition is so small and not good he's just getting dunks, but I believe Bagley is legit.

Deandre Ayton is massive. I don't know that I've ever seen a true freshman big who looked so strong already, virtually all the guys who we see at his age and height are bean poles, this dude looks like David Robinson out there.

Also, he has some serious skill. Guy does some fast, flicked passes and has a great touch around the hoop.

Embiid looked big like that.
