Some early guesses:
— S Tyrann Mathieu—CORE—3 years @ $32M + incentives; $12M guaranteed.
— WR Larry Fitzgerald—CORE—1-2 years @ $7M per, if he doesn’t retire.
— OLB Chandler Jones—CORE—franchise tag. Goal: 4 years @ $56M + incentives and $22M guaranteed.
— DT Calais Campbell—UFA—he will get more $$$ elsewhere (comp value), plus drafting Nkemdiche and starting Gunter opposite looks like the future plan.
— WR Michael Floyd—UFA—same as Campbell (comp value)---putting him on trade market the last two years is a tip of the hand.
— G Evan Mathis—-If he plays well and wants to return, another 1 year $3M deal awaits
— DT Frostee Rucker—with another good year in rotation, a one year $1.5M awaits.
— RB Chris Johnson—if he proves he’s a #2 RB fit, another 1 year $2M+ incentives deal awaits
— RB Andre Ellington—UFA—he will get more $$$ elsewhere (comp value)
— S Tony Jefferson—UFA—will get more $$$, plus they drafted his successor (comp value)
— TE Jermaine Gresham—big year gets him 2-3 year deal @ $4M a year.
— OLB Alex Okafor—UFA—may have trouble making 2016 team. Might have some late round or player for player trade value to rush needy team like Cowboys.
— ILB Kevin Minter—UFA—if he accepts Keim’s 2 down ILB $$$ offer, he sticks, otherwise he make more $$$ elsewhere (comp value)
— WR Jaron Brown—if the $$$ is right, they re-sign him.
— S D.J. Swearinger—at reasonable $$$, he sticks
— RB Stepfan Taylor—UFA—may have trouble making the 2016 team, as roster spots will be precious and defensive rookies all look good on STs.
---TE Darren Fells---CORE---3 years @ $3M + incentives per year.
---DE Josh Mauro---if Campbell moves on, Keim will sign Mauro to an incentive laden deal at a base of $2M per.

These are guesses as to what Steve Keim may have in mind…not necessarily my own personal choices. It will be very hard to see some of these players get gobbled up in FA.

I hope the Cards do more for the Badger that what you're projecting there Mitch. I'd like to see a 5 year deal with incentives for games played and performance, with a base guarantee closer to $20 million. ;)

Also, once they get the deal done with Badger (any day now), I would love to see them lock up Chandler Jones and not resort to a Franchise Tag next year!

If extended, Fitz's cap number on a $7M salary (fully guaranteed, one assumes) would be over $11M each year.

Only 8 WRs have $11M+ annual cap holds besides Larry Fitzgerald's current deal—including Alshon Jeffery's Franchise Tag number and the last year of Vincent Jackson's contract in Tampa Bay.

We have guys to sign, but we don't have much committed spacewise according to spotrac.

112 million next year and only 83 million in 2018. That's some of the least committed. 8th fewest for 2017, and 4th least for 2018.

For comparison the Eagles have 175 million committed next year and 149 for 2018. That's the most.

We've got more guys to sign, but we're nowhere near an untenable situation.

If anyone cares, the Seahawks have 128 and 115 committed.

What it boils down to is—Honey Badger is going to have to make the choice to get paid this year or to risk it all on how he performs this year heading into FA.

I think 3 years at $32M (symbolic number like Fitz’s $11M) with $12M in guarantees and some yearly incentives is a very reasonable common ground. He gets paid his signing bonus this year (as opposed to playing this year for a mere $1.2M) and in 2019, if he keeps playing at a high level, he is still young enough to make a very lucrative third contract. He just turned 24. He would only be 27 when he gets his third contract.

there's no way in hell he signs a 3 year 32 million dollar deal. He got peanuts for his rookie deal and he's gonna be asking for All-Pro dollars.

HB definitely seems like the type of kid that would bet on himself rather than signing a more team-friendly deal like that. Only HE knows how healthy he is and he could easily get a 4-5 year deal should he come close to his performance last year.

On the flip side I'd like to see him prove it next year from the team's POV. No problem making him the highest paid Safety of he comes back strong.

I'd anyone needs to sign an extenstion it's Campbell. Other core players have helped build a team he should do the same.

At 10 million a year he would be the highest paid safety in the NFL. Are you saying he wouldn't take it because of the length of the contract?

I'm with Mitch on his contract suggestion here . In three seasons , a knee -----a broken thumb ----- another knee , lets be careful not to get into a Cowboys --- Romo contract situation here with HB .

Probably because he plays a hybrid with alot of time at CB and even at LOS. Those positions average alot more than safety. So he kind of gets jipped if they base him purely at safety.

Man NFL Network is all over this story, saying he'll be the highest paid safety in history. Somebody leaked the hell out of something. His phone must be ringing off the hook from friends and relatives.

I don't even think the team's initial offer was this low.

Could this even be negotiated on Madden?

I don't think there's much to be scared about. The Cardinals will make sure there are injury clauses. That's why it's taking so long. So HB will be the highest paid safety in history - IF he can stay healthy.

How many and what type of compensation picks would we receive in 2018. It looks like we're talking about an 11 -12 picks draft. That's something unusual for us.

I'm glad Keim is trying to lock him up long term. There's risk with every contract but I'm glad the Cards finally have a GM that keeps their talent around rather than letting them walk after their rookie contract expires.

This happened under Rod Graves, too. Washington, Campbell, Dockett, Boldin and Fitzgerald all got massive contract extensions near the end of their rookie deals.

Meanwhile, Justin Bethel is likely to be the only member of the Cards' 2012 draft class to get a second deal with Arizona, and Patrick Peterson is the only remaining member of the 2011 draft class.
