Pretty much this. If it's any consolation, it probably means their interesy in Harper has declined, keeping Harper inclined to sign on the east coast. So when the DB's rebuild is done in two years, they won't have to worry about that guy in the same division.

They'll keep him, he's not a Bora's client so at least they don't have to deal with that. Ironically, none of COL's big contracts are on SP's. They'll be okay, they have a good farm system so they will have young, cheap talent under control until Arenado's next contract expires.

Rzepczynski agreed to a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training.
Rzepczynski struggled in limited opportunities during the 2018 season, accruing a 6.97 ERA and 2.52 WHIP with 11 punchouts over 10.1 innings across stops with Cleveland and Seattle. He figures to have a shot to make the big-league roster during spring training given his past experience in the majors, though he'll have to prove that he's worthy of joining Arizona's bullpen during spring training.

Nolasco last pitched in the major leagues during the 2017 season, when he started 33 games for the Angels and posted a 4.92 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with a 143:58 K:BB through 181 innings. He figures to serve as organizational depth for Arizona at Triple-A but could return to the big leagues should the Diamondbacks struggle through any injury problems in their starting rotation.
