I was young, dumb and full of cum when I was his age as well and did some stupid stuff. I look back and I'm very disappointed in myself for that behavior and my hope with Kirk is he will do what I did and stop doing idiotic stuff.

We all were but not many of us did such destructive stuff. Simple solution would be for Kirk to pay for every bit of damage he and his cohorts caused out of his pocket. The only way to get through to some people is to F with their money.

He was drunk and stupid. It’s still no excuse. If he is guilty, he should have to pay the fine and shouldn’t get off because he’s an athlete. At the same time, we drafted him to play football, not be a model citizen. If he plays 16 games a year and helps us win games, the gm made the right move drafting him. They say he’s a model citizen and I hope it was just one dumb night he’ll regret. I’m sure all of us have them.

My concern is that SK has talked about Cardinal DNA since he became the GM. That DNA does not include vandalism so what Kirk did was stupid and not what SK and SW have been preaching. So yes we drafted him to play football but he was also drafted because he has Cardinal DNA, or is that just some BS that our FO feeds us?

True, but we also took a chance on players like Mathieu with a lot more of a history than Kirk and that turned out well. Our core in Fitz, PP, Jones, Johnson and others are nothing but model citizens. Kirk is supposedly a high character person that will fit that DNA. I think he made a dumb mistake and it doesn’t define who he really is. This is pure speculation from what I’ve read about him. I hope he fits the mold and is a smaller Fitz 2.0 for the next 15 years

I believe Mathieu was a unique example because of his close ties with Peterson and his vouching for TM. Diche I guess is another example but he really only had one incident IIRC. Who else did SK take a chance on?

I've been very impressed with how Kirk speaks and how he carries himself so I'm hopeful that he is what he appears to be. Even Fitz had a big mistake/issue with his babies Mom and yet has been a saint otherwise.

I think DJ Humphries had some immaturity issues, but otherwise nothing crazy. Kirk will settle in with veteran leadership and will be just fine.

I'm loving those who say this is no big deal. Oh, we didn't draft him to be a model citizen yada yada. Is this what we've become as a society? No more personal responsibility? No more accountability? If it fees good, do it? He's a grown man and should know better. He chose to damage other people's property because he felt like it. I'm glad you all are fine with it but I guarantee you all would be singing a different tune if you walked out of your house and found a cracked windshield, broken window, or dent in the side of your car. You wouldn't just shrug it off as, "oh, well". You'd be pissed and want the one responsible to pay for it. But this is why society is going into the crapper. No matter the crime it's never the person who committed it's fault. We didn't draft him to be a model citizen. That's just great. So if your kid starts throwing rocks through windows, I want you to remember that's how you felt about this.

That's a little over the top. What do you want us all to do? Scream for him to be cut? Demand refunds of our tickets? Picket the practice facility?

He got arrested. He will be ordered to pay restitution and do community service. Charges will be dropped once he completes it. And, that isn't "special treatment" for an athlete, or society "being soft". It's exactly what happened to two of my college roommates who got way to crazy one night and they smashed up a couple of bikes and flower pots in the complex. They never have been in trouble since.

I can distinguish degrees of sin and minor property damage isn't anywhere near the ballpark of domestic violence. For just one example.

But, hey, glad you got to vent your anger on the rest of America. Again.

For those tempted to compare to Johnny Manziel, there is none. JF grew up in a small Texas town and my Brother-in-law who lives there told me, before Manziel took a snap in college that he had a "big head", had a "hot temper" and liked to party. He told me he would likely get in trouble. And, on Aggies message there were lots of Manziel stories and rumors going around.

Not a whiff of that about Kirk. Everyone is just like, "Well, never thought he would do something that stupid." Given the choice between a DUI or throwing rocks for one of our guys its a no brainer.

Do I want him cut? No but I do want people to acknowledge that what he did was wrong and he both needs to be made to pay for all repairs and acknowledge himself what he did was both wrong and stupid. But what I can't stand is this cavalier attitude here with people who don't think this is a big deal. Anytime you damage something that does not belong to you it's a big deal. I'm quite sure if you found your side view mirror knocked off of your car you'd be pretty pissed and wouldn't simply shrug it off as boys will be boys. And finally, if you don't like what I post then don't read it. My opinion is just as valuable as yours.

Or probably guilty but aw shucks he was just a drunk college kid so he gets a pass. I've heard it both ways.

I'm talking about the law. He is most certainly innocent until proven guilty. He hasn't been convicted of anything yet. For all we know it could have been someone he was with that threw the rock(s). There is no guilty but aw shucks law that I know of.

SIAP;

Former Texas A&M star Christian Kirk was arrested two months before the NFL Draft over an incident at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and details from the police report indicated he was extremely intoxicated.

Kirk and a friend were charged with disorderly conduct and property damage after they were allegedly seen throwing rocks at cars, resulting in at least one broken window. The officer who spoke with Kirk said in the Feb. 3 police report that he smelled “an intoxicating beverage coming from his person” and that Kirk’s eyes were bloodshot and watery.

“They were extremely intoxicated,” Sgt. Ben Hoster of the Scottsdale police, accoridng to a report obtained by ABC 15 in Arizona. “They actually had a difficult time responding to questions.”

Another officer on the scene said he was concerned that Kirk might become violent, noting that he was “clenching his fists” and making “very pronounced movements” as the officer approached. The officer also noted that Kirk was exhibiting symptoms that typically indicate a person is high on stimulants.

“Fearing an assault on (the other officer) was imminent, I approached from the rear of Kirk and applied handcuffs. His arms were tense and flexed as I applied the handcuffs,” the officer wrote in the report. “I then assisted Kirk to a seated position. I further noticed the grinding movement of his jaw and continued blank stare. These are common signs of an individual high on stimulants, such as cocaine.

No DUI because neither was driving, but I'm surprised there was no charge of public intoxication or something. According to the police report, both were so impaired that they couldn't even answer basic questions and police suspected the use of a stimulant as well.
