Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds meets with media this afternoon. Here’s some video of him. Best run is around the 3:50 mark.

I do not know how his game will translate from small school to the NFL but his presser was the best presser I have ever seen from a rookie. Sincerely impressive knowledge for the game, attitude, understanding the reality of his situation, confidence, humility. After his production and character, I can see now why the Cardinals drafted him... as Wilks might say, the kid's 'DNA' is 'tremendous' lol

Its good and all that the Cards are drafting guys with "good DNA". But I honestly only care about whether these guys can actually play in the NFL. I remember all too well how the Dave Mcginnis era of drafting boy scouts turned out...

One difference though... a lot of these guys where productive before becoming a pro :)

Tell the 49ers that character doesn't matter .

Looks like a very willing blocker - in the backfield and downfield.

I didn't see alot of the dancing people talked about. There were a couple where he got himself in trouble. But you can see where he knows how to hit the hole, so I think he'll be fine with that.

He bounces off of tacklers and falls forward. He looks good on the stretch zone plays. Get him into space and he will make plays. My one concern about the RB Corps is that, outside of DJ, there isn't another workhorse type guy. Logan and Edmonds are both smaller backs.

I don't care for lumping Logan and Edmonds together. They are the same height, but Edmonds has about 15 lbs on Logan. Also Edmonds was a legitimate workhorse in college and Logan was not.

I just like having two power backs on the roster. I'm not saying they are the same player, only that neither are power backs. The Cardinals always seem to be at the extreme of one end or the other: No backs with speed, or no backs with power. Outside of DJ, none of the backs are carry the pile kind of guys.

Elijah Penny is still on the roster. He's officially moving to FB but can still move a pile and probably fill in as HB if needed.

Yeah but he wasn't very effective when he got carries. I would love to have a legit power back who wasn't a UDFA, but meh it's a small problem.

I think the RB corps should be effective. DJ is the starter, Edmonds spells him, and TJ Logan is the special teamer/occasional homerun hitter. I wonder if the Cardinals carry Penny as a 4th RB/Backup FB behind Coleman? 5 backs is probably ideal if a team has FBs on the roster. That means TE isn't as big an issue and the Cardinals probably only keep Gresham, Seals-Jones, and one other blocking type.

I am legit excited about Edmonds, I think he sticks and I think he could be better at the #2 RB spot than what the Cardinals have had in awhile.

Don't count out DJ Foster, I think they might like him more than Penny. Penny as a fullback was my first clue that he is as good as gone.

Not very impressive film reel, curious to see what he will look like in preseason games

By no means am I saying he is Emmitt Smith but he's that style of back... great vision and quickness with a low center of gravity

also about the same size...ten pounds less than smith at his combine. smith moved a pile from time to time....sometimes the smaller guys have surprising leg strength

I hated this pick when they drafted and loved Kirk's pick. Now Kirk is no where and Edmonds getting rave reviews. :koolaid:
