I hated this pick when they drafted and loved Kirk's pick. Now Kirk is no where and Edmonds getting rave reviews.
I've seen a few good reports on Kirk. Not as many as there's been on Edmonds though.

Kirk is "nowhere?"
No Buzz since training camp. Nada. Zilch.
Actually it’s kind of been the reverse. The old thinking was that it takes wrs a while to acclimate to the nfl. More recent history suggests that’s changed. It's it really that surprising? I mean rookie wide receivers usually take a bit to get going, feeling comfortable . It's not like the old days where you just ran a route they're so many things to learn and get on the same page with their QB.

For your records...Kirk = Michael Floyd 2.0. I hope I'm proven wrong. And quickly.

Would you want him to get hype in TC just to have no impact in real games like with some of our picks the past couple of years? No Buzz since training camp. Nada. Zilch.

I mean, that was my point.Real impact is better. That is the hope but I am a little concerned he is not standing out against Bryce Butler, Chad Williams, Greg Little.
You've got it a bit backward. In the old days rookie WRs used to take time to develop even high round DPs not so much anymore. Tons of WRs come in and produce in year 1.
There was an article during draft time this year that pretty much said rookie WRs are slower to develop than in previous years. I have to see if I can find it...

from 2015-2017 first round rookie WRs have averaged 320.8 yards a season, from 2011-2013 they averaged 601.2
Every team has its own preseason narrative among media guys.I think we are really getting a good look at the offense McCoy & Wilks want to run. Fast pace, RPO, dumps to backs, WR screens, and deep shots to JJ & Fitz.
I'm fine with it but damn..... I think McVay and Shannahan are going to be better than us at it. But what do I know.
Chase Edmonds, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Drafted: Round 4, No. 134 overall out of Fordham
I was in the building to watch Edmonds' incredible touchdown run against the Chargers. He runs much bigger than his size (5-9, 205) and refuses to go down on first contact. While he played at a lower competition level in college, Edmonds did dominate and produce eye-popping career numbers (5,862 rushing yards and 74 total touchdowns). David Johnson will be the workhorse back in Arizona now that he's healthy again, but Edmonds will earn his fair share of touches this fall. He was an excellent value pick.

Kirk is not a vertical player. That is why he struggles to have a role with Fitz on the roster.Chopper, while I agree completely with what you said, I am reminded that we played two smaller guys on the outside in the last few years, with Larry in the slot. Granted they were faster than Kirk, but he seems to have better hands. Worst case, Kirk is the future slot receiver and the present PR.
