Keim: CB Chris Campbell can play inside, outside, and safety.

This might be the most intriguing pick after Rosen and Kirk to me. I like the measurables and the athletic testing as well. That mixed with the fact that Keim is touting him as a guy that has been a late bloomer and someone that works very hard to improve and I am hopeful he turns into something good. Time will tell.

I’m hopeful. But Keim sounds like he did describing Brandin Williams.

He looks promising on tape
Can stick with his receiver, he knows where the ball is coming, he use pretty well his long arms to break up passes
He can blitz and he is a good tackler
Dont know the reason he was drafted so late

Cole and CC seemed a big reach at first....yet after watching their vids it seems they might have been overlooked by scouts. Both should be able to start at sometime in the future...albeit maybe the immediate future.

“So many of these corners are shorter, slow-footed guys who struggle and have to play inside in the nickel,” mentioned Keim. “Here is a true guy with length and athleticism who can play outside and do all the things we ask our corners to do in this defense.”

That is Keim’s assessment of Williams. It sounds an awful lot like his assessment of Campbell, except Campbell wasn’t as fast as Williams but at least has more than 1 year of experience playing CB.

Campbell is without a doubt a Brandon Williams part II.

Once Kirk was the second round pick, getting a good CB#2 prospect went out the window.

That being said, giving up the 3rd round pick and 5th round pick that the Cardinals did, to get Rosen, turned out to be a great, great move. Most of the high end talen, IMHO, was taken before round 3 even started.

I now agree with Harry and his statement about a kid who is lets just say is not a textbook tackler. I have not seen one tackle where he "stuck his nose in there" and popped somebody. For his size he could seriously light up someone, but I have yet to see it. I think he will need to work on technique as well, he looks like a kid who has gotten by strictly on his athletic talents. I think it was a good pick as far as where he was picked, just got some work to do.

One thing I love about his highlights is how much he looks back for the ball. He got a lot of deflections last year, but he needs to try to avoid hooking the WR and spinning his body...he'll get some flags doing that in the NFL.

I think he fits the criteria of big school sleeper. One year as a starter, still rough around the edges but shows enough ability that you can tell he is learning. Get physical attributes. This is just the kind of guy that Carolina has been drafting the past few years and Wilks was developing. Got to think that Wilks probably lobbied for this guy.

Indeed - on his highlight video, i noticed that virtually every tackle is an arm tackle - and a couple of guys slipped out of his arms. On the other hand, getting his arms in there, he forced a couple of fumbles.

Right or wrong, I think this is a good type of player to grab in the 6th round.

You can never have too many CBs, even if he never becomes a starter.

It is amazing how motivated guys can be to tackle when they get paid to do so.

Average speed with plus length makes up for a ton.

Hmmm, after watching the video I saw a player who is willing to work through blockers to make a tackle and who doesn't get juked out of his shoes and still makes the tackle. He may have not looked textbook but he is effective and brings the runner or receiver down. Better tackling technique can be taught. The effort is there. NFL level coaching will only make him better.

Give the CB Whisperer some time with him before judging him. And all our CB's, as well. Being high-effort, smart, and coachable are major reasons many late round picks get picked over better athletes...

Difference between Campbell & Williams is that Campbell actually looked like a CB in college, although not the greatest. Williams never did. Christian got picked where he was supposed to get picked. Williams would have been a UDFA if Keim didn’t reach like hell for him.

Chad Williams too, was at best a 6th rounder

Call me crazy but I really liked this pick. From his tape, you see a long corner who looks back for the ball and tries to make a play on it.

How many corners have we seen who have all the measureables but their main failure is that they don't make a play on the ball?

The only pick I wasn't crazy about was Cunningham but that was a 7th round developmental type so I'm good with it.
