Mikal > Knox, Carter, Sexton

I trade thatbMiami pick anytime with a #16 pick to get a top 7 talent in a loaded draft

That Miami pick was valueable but ultimately when you make trade offers teams want something more imminent

I understand the criticism but I also understand the support. If you could have gotten MB for less, then that warrants criticism. But if it was this vs. not getting him at all and you want him... I don’t see how Philly calling he Suns with 30 seconds less meant that the Suns had all the cards. They had 30 seconds to decide. Philly could have kept him - or traded him elsewhere. They must have known the Suns wanted him. It seems unlikely that they drafted him and just started shopping him everywhere.
My guess is that the Suns had already made the call offering #16 and the Miami pick for #10 when Bridges was on the board. Philly decided to take Bridges. But when they saw they could get Smith with the #16 they called back and said yes.

This was my thought as well. We will probably find out.

if we can trade TJ Warren into something good, this Bridges trade looks better

to me, TJ has a stink on him from being a significant part of the team with the worst record and worst defense and it needs to be washed out of the locker room before we play with our shiny new toys

Shamet goes to the 76ers. Maybe they heard me.

The Suns had 2 players last year that MIGHT start for a good team. They need talented players. Now it seems that they may have doubled that number.

Bridges can defend 1-4. He is a great shooter. He can score both inside and out. He is a great passer. He has no holes in his game.

He could end up being better than Doncic.

Dont think there is any way he turns out better than Doncic, but hes a very valuable piece. The major hole in his game is he doesnt create off the bounce. He can attack closeouts off one or two dribbles. That said, you need competent wings in the NBA. Bridges is that out the gates, IMO.

Additionally, Josh Jackson needed to bulk up, and im not sure how much bigger Mikal will get. Jackson makes more sense playing the 4 with Mikal at the 3, but they certainly can become interchangeable.

This is the kind of thing that should be answered later this evening.

I could see Josh filling out and playing 4. Bridges at 3. TJ off the bench. We really added defense and shooting with Bridges. We needed that so much.

Robert Williams to the Celtics. The Celtics are lucky.

Someone is seeing the light. Not to mention, you now have three guys who can switch ball screens in Bridges, Jackson, and Ayton. All the talk about Ayton's rim protection (which absolutely needs to improve) and not enough about how he held his own switching onto guards this year. Miller had to bend his PNR coverage at times, and was able to do so because of Ayton.

Love the player...don't love the value or how it happened. Hopefully, that Miami pick doesn't turn out to be a huge loss.

So I'm against the trade, but very excited to have Mikal Bridges on the Suns and could reevaluate my thoughts of there is a good follow-up trade involving Warren.

it sure sounds better if phx was into the idea earlier
because if philly cold called us with 30 seconds to decide
they had a distinct advantage

Brunson is ahead of Okobo, but they might go draft and stash.
Not according to Bilas. He doesn’t even have Brunson in his top 10 remaining right now.

Edit: my bad he is now #10 in his remaining players.

We still need a point guard and with Charlotte actually trading away the PG that they drafted tells me that Kemba might be a no-go.
