Gambo said on Twitter that the price for Aaron Gordon would be the Suns 1st round pick this year. At that price, no thanks. If he could be had for the 2 Miami picks or a combination of the Milwaukee pick and one of the Miami picks, I'd be for it. I know that would hurt the Suns pick this year but it would be moving in the right direction in terms of adding another quality player to the team. If they added Gordon to this team I don't think he'd move the needle enough that our pick would fall much. Right now the Suns have the 5th worst record in the league, with Gordon they'd probably end up #6 or #7.

Yahoo posted an article yesterday that lists the most likely player to be traded on all 30 teams. For the Suns they list Tyson Chandler, which isn't a surprise. Here is the write up they had for him...

Even at the age of 35, Chandler is still a helpful piece in the paint. The Suns are going nowhere fast and have no use for a veteran eating up 25 minutes a night on a team with lottery picks in need of seasoning. Chandler is owed another $13.6 million next season, which is a bit of a concern for any team that might be willing to trade for him, but he could still earn his paycheck in the right situation.

All of these are players we would be very annoyed with if they were on our roster.

Bordow on Aaron Gordon:

Plus, Orlando would likely want the Suns' lottery pick (no thank you) plus Phoenix likely would have to pay Gordon max as restricted free agent.

For Suns fans clamoring for Aaron Gordon: He's a career 30 percent 3-point shooter who is shooting 34 percent only because he shot the ball out of his mind first month. Suns already have forwards (Jackson, Warren) who can't stretch the floor. More:

I like Gordon a lot for the right price, however, he would damage the Suns draft although he appears to be taking off at the age of 22.

Definitely do not want to give up the Suns first round pick this season or pay him the max.

I do not know if he is really taking off.

Saw ESPN post an article about salaries and financial hits to teams. In it they list that only 7 teams will have $10 million or more in cap space this summer. The Suns are one of those teams, with the 6th most cap space available. If they can unload Chandler or Dudley before the deadline they'd be close to even with the 76'ers with about $30 million in cap space. Of the teams with cap space though I think it's safe to say that the 76'ers would be the most attractive destination but the Suns should be a more attractive option than the Hawks and possibly the Bulls and Nets but behind the Lakers and Mavericks.

Los Angeles Lakers $35 million
Philadelphia 76ers $30 million
Chicago Bulls $24 million
Atlanta Hawks $21 million
Dallas Mavericks $20 million
Phoenix Suns $17 million
Brooklyn Nets $15 million

@Poop Head

Even if the Suns can't move Dudley and Chandler before the trade deadline they both will be expiring contracts next season which make them easier to move.

Also if the Suns buyout Knight and prorate his salary over a number of years, this should clear some room as well.

And only Philly has any comparable players to Devin Booker.

I'm hoping Tyreke Evans does not end up with the Heat.

Philly would be a nice spot for him to land, they're behind the Heat in the standings and adding him could help them a lot. They have a lot of young talent but adding veterans that are good enough to take minutes from their youngsters is what they need to balance things out and legitimately compete. They're not winning a title this year but they should make it to the 2nd round and could potentially spoil someone's run in the East.

Detroit is behind Miami also. Hopefully SVG can work Blake into their lineup quickly and get them back on track so they can overtake Miami. It would be good to see the Suns get the Bucks and Heat picks if they're #14 and #15. I think they could package those to get back into the single digits, if not that gives them a lot of options for themselves.

That would be sweet to get a better Heat pick plus the Bucks pick. I've sort of given up on getting the Bucks pick but anything can happen. I keep hoping the Heat trade someone like Whiteside.

I would love to get the Milwaukee pick this year, but if it flips to next year, its OK. You never know what might happen. Injuries, etc.

Some of Bordow's thoughts if the Suns make a trade.

.... The most likely candidate to be dealt is backup shooting guard Troy Daniels, who will make just $3.2 million in 2018-19. Dealing Daniels would enable Phoenix to get a good look at rookie Davon Reed over the final 25 games of the season. But it’s unlikely the Suns could get anything more than a second-round pick for Daniels. The same goes for Alex Len, who will be an unrestricted free agent. It’s hard to imagine teams wanting to part with a first-round pick for Len, who started strongly this season but has been wildly inconsistent the past month.

Also some insights on Booker at PG and the Suns in free agency.
