I laugh when posters bring up class. Championship teams need that guy that brings that edge. Rodman, Bowen, Artest, Draymond it's the whole if he's on your team you love him if your playing against him you hate him.

Tristan on the other hand left his 9 month pregnant high school sweetheart for a Kardashian then got caught cheating on his 9 month pregnant kardashian fiancé lol but Draymond is classless? No Draymond flat out said it to his face on the court after game 4 that's man stuff right there.

You really can't hate the Warriors they drafted all those guys good for them man. Like it was brought up what are they supposed to do tell KD thanks but no thanks

People say things like this all the time even about players such as Zaza and Dellavedova and I've never agreed with this sentiment. I'd rather lose than have to watch Bowen or post-Detroit Rodman play for my team. But as much as I hate so many things about Green, he might be the one player I'd make an exception for (but not at the Super Max).

agreed. The 2004 Pistons didn't need thugs. The 2014 Spurs didn't need thugs. The early 1990's Bulls threepeat team didn't have thugs. The Showtime Lakers didn't have thugs. The first three peat Lakers didn't have these kind of thugs. The back to back Rockets teams didn't have thugs (Mad Max was crazy but not a consistent cheap shot artist, nor was Horry at that point). The 2013 Mavs didn't need thugs. The Heatles didn't have thugs.

And there was a reason that we all hated the Bowen/Horry Spurs, the Artest Lakers. It was because they were talented enough to win as is, but played dirty to boot. Championship teams don't need thugs to win or give them an edge.

Don't confuse "thugs" with guys who are tough and do the dirty work. All those teams had those guys. Ben Wallace was the enforcer the guy you didn't mess with. That was Horace Grant/Oakley for the early Bulls, Vernon Maxwell was very much off the wall to pretend otherwise is crazy and Otis Thorpe was there enforcer don't forget UD in Miami. These guys are on every championship team and you can look back at those Showtime Lakers and see they were involved in a few brawls especially when the Cetics were involved but that was the NBA back then they were all down to fight

Uh he didn’t confuse them. He did just the opposite. He said those teams didn’t have thugs. He didn’t say they didn’t have tough guys.

How did you feel about Dockett when he was on the Cards?

Personally, I found him hard to cheer for, he was a cheap shot artist and an a-hole, but I know he was beloved by much of the fan base.

I loved Dockett because for years I watched the Cardinals pass on jerks like him and select choir boys who couldn't play, and the Cardinals finally drafted a thuggish punk who took cheap shots.

Calling Dray a thug is ridiculous.

Some of those teams yeah but it really depends how you define thug and I submit there's a built in bias if a player is a really good scorer, we tend to not call them thugs for the other stuff they do. I think Rasheed was a dirty player, if you google dirtiest NBA players you find one list after another that lists Rasheed. I don't recall people calling him a thug though, because he was a really good offensive player. I would call Ginobili a dirty player too, lots of people here did, but I don't hear thug with him and again I submit it's because if you're good enough on offense, people don't call you a thug.

Green crosses the line regularly, not nearly as much this playoffs as in past playoffs. This year his biggest issue was talking too much and getting T's. He actually eased up on the dirty plays stuff IMO.

I submit that if Dellavadova was a 20 PPG scorer, people would call him tough or dirty, but not a thug. but he's not a good scorer so people call him a thug.

There are Celtics fans who will certainly call Rambis a thug, I won't, I grew up 3 blocks from him watching his HS games when I was in elementary school. But he certainly fits the profile, not a big scorer and EXTREMELY physical.

Dray is 100% a thug. A skilled thug, but a thug nonetheless. Dude takes cheap shots and gives nutsacks all the time. Thug. He’s actually too good of a player to be doing that stuff. Demeans his game. He can be tough without being a thug.

Not accurate... He is still not a thug, do you consider Chris Paul a thug?

Dray is a thug. Anyone who is out there deliberately kicking people in the balls is a thug.

Zaza is worse though. He's scum.
Dude hit two people in the nuts in one season two years ago...anything else to bring to the table?

The above is a joke. A guy who routinely tries to kick other players in the balls is a thug.

To say otherwise is blatant blind homerism at it's all time worst.

Hes not a thug...he's a temperamental ******* several times a year and can be reckless at times. He is still not a thug.

Unless you want to call ALL dirty players thugs, then I will accept it. Otherwise it's blind haterism.

We have to define thug IMO. If Draymond is a thug, as you said so is CP3, he's actually punched opposing players in the nuts. I just don't know what definition we're using for thug.

check the history on the board if you want. I never really liked him and thought he was overrated.

and I consistently called out Amare on his push-up, celebration, constant and one BS that made him look stupid.

if you want to call CP3 a thug fine. The idea that Draymond isn't is laughably pathetic.

Me too I talked at length about not liking Dockett's dirty play going back to college when he injured a players knee intentionally.

If you asked me for a definition of thug I would say it has to include trying to actually injure guys, but I know everyone has their own definition. Chris Paul is dirty as hell, I can find at least 4 videos of him punching someone in the nuts in one google search, but I don't know if taht equals thug, he's not going to injure someone doing that.

I didn't say he wasn't I asked for a definition.

With Paul in 10 seconds on google I found video of him punching Julius Hodge in the nuts in college, punching Kaman, Durant and one other NBA guy in the nuts. I even found a video of a reporter asking him why he's constantly hitting other players in the nuts, he even does it when dribbling he actually grabbed Kaman in the nuts once so he's both punched and grabbed his nuts.

But I don't know your definition of thug.

I watched Paul for YEARS on the Clippers and he didn't do half the garbage crap that Draymond's done. Does he play with elbows, and look to take shots every now and then? Sure. So did Stockton. Draymond tries to start fights, takes head and nut shots. There's a difference and the fact that you don't see it just shows how little objectivity you have.

There has to be consistency...if you are going to define thuggery as anyone who regularly (and regularly is debatable with Green) targets junk then you are going to have to label several other dirty players, "thugs."

so after all this, the answer is... yes. It doesn't bother you rooting for thugs and don't care what they do.

That's all you had to say.

Defending either Draymond or Zaza is moronic.
