Yes.

The 3 worst teams have an equal 14% chance at the top pick. The chances for the top pick after that are as follows:

4. 12.5%
5. 10.5%
6. 9%
7. 7.5%
8. 6%
9. 3.8%
10. 3.7%
11. 2%
12. 1.5%
13. 1%
14. .5%

I've had the Suns getting the fifth pick regularly on the simulator with borderline teams moving up.

The Suns will need a huge dose of luck to get one of the top three picks.

There's a 65% chance Zion goes to one of the 5 worst teams.

There's a 30% chance he goes to teams 6-10.

And the 4 teams who just miss the playoffs have a collective 5% chance.

Watch the Lakers just miss the playoffs but then luck into Zion...

I'm not liking the new draft odds even if its meant to stop tanking. Imagine a fringe playoff team in the west getting Zion.

Looks like if we dont get #1, it’s Morant or Garland. I didn’t see them having us pick anyone else, regardless if we have the #2 or #5.

If the Suns can't land one of the top three or four players that fit team needs such as Zion or Morant, I think there is a good chance they trade the pick.

I think they should trade the pick unless they can take Zion or Barrett.

I'd probably extend it to Morant.

However, other than drafting Zion I would consider all trade offers.

I still think people are being too hard on this draft class I see alot of rookies that will probably be solid right out the gate , that being said if they can't get Zion or Morant then they should trade the pick because those other players are mostly wings

I still think Morant is a colossal bust waiting to happen and that he needs at least another year in college to have a chance of contributing anything at the NBA level.

If the Suns drafted Morant, the Suns should not expect to start him. They would still need to find a starting point guard.

I still don't see how Morant is any more promising of a prospect than Okobo or Melton, so unless we trade both Okobo and Melton (and I do not expect that either would have much value in a trade, because like Melton, they are nowhere near ready for NBA competition and are currently a better fit for the G League than the NBA) I see no reason to spend the draft capital on Morant. And frankly, I think as good of a developmental prospect could be found at the top of the second round, even if the Suns somehow got rid of both Okobo and Melton.

This is where the Suns scouts come into play.

Didn't they mention they had something like 10 of them the other day. Some sarcasm intended.

I don't know, the success of TYoung makes me optimistice that Ja could have a high level impact in his rookie year.

Maybe Morant could have an early impact on the Suns but I don't think it would be wise to count on it.

The Suns can't go a third season without a starting point guard.

Except that Young had a far more successful college career against far superior competition. Other than posting flashy stats against bad competition and doing okay but not spectacular in losses to Auburn and Alabama, Morant hasn't done diddly squat.

And, in case you didn't notice, Young hasn't exactly led the Hawks to any measure of success or improvement.

Yeah, James Jones mentioned yesterday or the day before that they had 10 scouts currently scouting the various conferences. The good news is it's not the same decision makers that gave us Bender and Chriss. The bad news is as far as we know they have no track record so we have no idea what to expect from them.

Our previous scouts did not seem to matter. We just took whoever the mocks said we should have taken. It could be worse. We could get some of those really smart out of the blue picks that GM's really think are great--Bruno Coboclo, Renaldo Balkman come to mind.

Hopefully we're still 3 years away from being 3 years away from drafting Bruno although Bender might actually be an NBA player in year 6.
