Despite this being a sweep in favor of the Warriors it was more competitive than your average sweep. The Warriors played every 4th quarter like it was a must win game, coming back and knocking the Blazers around. The Blazers had no answers when the Warriors would start their runs in the 4th. You'd think they would know it was coming and play a little smarter or change things up some but they played into the Warriors hands.

100% true hell they were down double digits in the 2nd half in games 2-4. Portland could easily be up 3-1 right now.

No lead is safe against this team it’s been like this for years. No matter what the Blazers did or tried the Warriors are on a different level there’s a reason there going to there 5th straight finals and probably gonna be 4-1

wow Curry 47 minutes 0 personal fouls. He got away with a charge late right before the ball went out off Klay on the Lillard shot but for the most part I think he just went out of his way to avoid contact. as ESPN just said they didn't attack Curry nearly enough knowing he had to carry the offense

Warriors make easy work of the Bucks or Raptors especially if KD is back and even not

@Russ Smith What an AMAZING ride these past few years have been!!!

Yeah I'm old enough that 75 was the first year I was an NBA fan so I had no idea it was going to be 40 years before they won another one. I think this is the last year of it but hey if they can keep Klay and Draymond with Steph maybe not.

9 days off is way too long.

There is no team that needs that time off more than the Warriors and having won 3 of the last 4 titles, they know exactly what is expected of them and how they need to prepare for the finals. I'm sure they'd do much better if they were facing Cleveland again because of the familiarity but even against a new team, it shouldn't hurt them that much. They've been in this spot too many times to let time off like that hurt them that bad.

I'm not saying it can't backfire but they are well aware of the dangers of that and should be prepared to handle it, somehow.

Upon replay it’s crazy they missed it.

Yeah it almost looked like Leonard was trying to grab him to make sure he didn't make the shot.

Even the walk was bizarre, he walked, no call, still had a wide open 2 but for some reason he took 2 more steps to take a 3 when it was a tie game. So he walked twice before they called it.

Steph was so gassed at the end there I think he missed his last 6 shots maybe more the offensive rebounding by McKinnie and Looney saved them on offense

That is some bad luck. I doubt any other player has experienced something like that. He's on 3 different teams over the last 3 seasons and all 3 playoff trips ended with a Warriors sweep. Wouldn't surprise me to see him sign with Golden State this summer. They could probably use him for depth. He had a good playoff run, despite the ending. He could even be groomed to take over for Iggy in time.

I keep thinking of the band Genesis. As they lost band members, their success grew! Kind of like this year's GS team with injuries. :band:

Replacing Iggy is going to be tough and it may come this year wouldn't surprise me at all if he retires. He's such a good defender and such a good passer. he has issues with passing up shots, and I wish he was a more consistent Ft shooter and shooter in general but you just don't find guys that size who can defend multiple positions and pass the ball like he does. I expect at least one if not both of him and Livingston to retire.

Hood has good size and is a good shooter, I don't think he's even close defensively to Iggy though.

I would guess Livingston more. He's had to battle injuries forever. I can see Iggy playing past 40. LOL.

It's funny to hear some people talk about this Warrior team supposedly overcoming "adversity". Yeah, they've had injuries and been forced to go back to their 73-9, defending champion lineup... rough.

IMO, it's pretty obvious they're better without Cousins and seeing as they're now like... 30-1 in games that Durant doesn't play, it's hard to argue they are not better without him too. It's just a more functional, defined team.

The main benefit of signing Durant was that he wasn't around to play against them.

It's going to be funny to watch him flounder and cancer up the joint in New York the next few years. His razor thin skin is going to have a rough go of things in that media market.

It's close to the 73-9 team you basically replaced Barnes with McKinnie last night and Bell started for Bogut who's still good but can't play as many minutes as he could that year. Iggy and Livingston aren't close to what they were the 73-9 year but Klay and Steph are as good and I think with the lost weight Draymond is clearly better.

I get that they're still very talented but not having 3 starters going into game 4 of the WCF is still adversity. Not the same as say Portland losing Lillard would be of course but still adversity.

You can already see the script for the finals though Durant and Boogie either don't play or are nowhere near 100%. Steph balls out but Draymond wins series MVP.

No matter who they play The Bucks or The Raptors GS will still have 3 of the 4 best players in the series and hell I’d take Iggy over any of the role players on either of those teams
