First baseman C.J. Cron and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a one-year, $6.1 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.
Now if only the D-backs would give his brother Kevin a fair chance to show what he could do at the Major League level.
Or give another team a chance. Time is running out for Kevin.
Their father, Chris Cron was an MLB player. And the Crons are cousins with Chad Moeller. Chris managed Kevin with Reno in 2019.
You'd think he'd have some input about Lovullo never giving him a chance when they've brought him up.
Except for a rare one-game start, he's been a pinch hitter. Some sluggers are not cut out to be pinch hitters.
It appears that Kevin was held hostage to protect Walker and Lamb, both ahead of him in the pecking order,
even though Kevin has shown that he is a better hitter than either. And has the ability to drive in more runs.
