We have multiple options to make Trae's life much more difficult.

We don't need to run him over. We could actually try to defend him unlike the bucks tonight

There's no defending him, really. He was smothered in the Sixers series and still lit them up. He's like a better passing version of Curry.

Sic the bulldog on em!! Young might score 30...but he's gonna work harder for that 30 than he has so far in the playoffs. I love Carters tenacity

I love Jevon and his tenacity but Young is virtually unguardable. Plus that's a tall order to ask of someone who has been glued to the bench for almost the entire postseason.

I would rather face the Bucks than Trae Young.

Atlanta is legit. I mean straight up legit. Tray Young is the scariest player in the East. I want the Bucks. If you make Giannis an outside shooter you can win.

I just watched tonight's highlights....wow. unguardable seems about right. His handles are insane...and he shoots it like Steph. That off the backboard alley oop was pretty great too.

I'll admit....he worries me. Guys that can hit 5 threes in a row and put you in a world of hurt before you can adjust.

It’s a pretty well rounded team with a superstar able to go totally nuts in a hurry. Would probably be a high wire act for a lot of the series, but if Bogdanovich is a non-factor, that’s a big loss for them and hurts their depth.

He has that simple tier drop down to a science. It's amazing how many teams that confuses. You simply cannot tell if he is actually shooting it or passing it when he does it. It's about as effective as CP3/Booker's mid-range game. When you add that he is hitting 3's? My gosh!

There is no simple answer to guarding Trae Young. Last night he was unstoppable against the Bucks because he was hitting his floater. When he is not hitting that shot, he can have some off shooting games. It opens up his entire arsenal. I think the key to slowing Young down is taking away the floater.

Mark Cuban and the soon-to-be hired GM have had in-depth discussions about the coaching candidates, sources said. Jason Kidd has had support of Dirk Nowitzki and others advising Cuban

The Mavericks are progressing in talks to make Jason Kidd the franchise’s new head coach, sources told@ wojespn and me. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is also close to hiring a new head of basketball operations, who has signed off on the Kidd candidacy

Dirk? That would not surprise me, especially if Dirk has already been working in the front office.

Source: Mavs vice president of basketball operations Michael Finley is expected to remain with the franchise. I am not clear yet on whether Finley will be promoted or remain in his role. Mark Cuban is also close to adding a new executive to the Dallas front office.

Hawks or Bucks. I don't know. We have no control over who we play. One thing I am sure of is we haven't played our best game yet so let them worry about us.

Not finding much on it but there are reports that Zion's and his family have notified the Pelicans they are not happy in NO and want to be traded. They feel they've waited to see the Pelicans put the right pieces around him, aren't happy with the progress and want to move on. If true wtf, he has played EIGHTY FIVE NBA games! he plays zero defense. At his size and athletic ability to get only 7 RPG is stunningly bad. He shot under 30 from 3 in year 2 after being over 40 as a rookie, few attempts but the point is doesn't appear he worked much on his shooting.

Zion is a freak, he's a great finisher, unstoppable in the paint. He vastly improved as a passer in year 2 although I think the actual jump in his assists is almost 100% attributable to Lonzo Ball becoming a better shooter so those kickouts become makes not misses.

if he really wants out this quickly I'd be very leery about taking him in a deal because it would be a major red flag to me that a kid with such little experience, with such glaring holes in his own game, who only plays one end of the court, is already asking to be traded because he thinks the franchise hasn't done enough to help him.

Their entire problem is on defense and he's a huge part of that he can't guard. Actually his best position on defense is small ball 5, he can't guard NBA 4's and gets destroyed by NBA 3's. Statistically he got better on defense this past year but he was still awful.

My guess is if this is true it's more related to the improvements with Ingram and Ball than anything, they want Zion to be "the man" and the fact that 2 other young players made substantial improvements doesn't fit that narrative. Hope I'm wrong but this really sounds like they just don't think he gets enough exposure there so they want him on a higher profile team.

If true, epic disappointment for NO fans to have AD and Zion both demand trades. I’m surprised that there isn’t more visible pressure from players’ camps around the draft, though I assume it happens behind the scenes.

That would provide reason for SVG abruptly quitting after just 1 season. He views the situation as irreparable and doesn't want to be blamed for Zion wanting out.
