You're absolutely correct. I was talking with a co-worker and he was certain the Lakers were going to run away with the championship. I told him they were going to be a disaster, that Westbrook was a ball hog and it would screw up the flow of their offense. Even though I hate that the Rams won the Super Bowl, I'm even happier that the Lakers are terrible. Terrible. Because screw LA sports teams.
I fell in between. I didn't expect much from the Westbrook addition but I thought that Davis and Lebron had a decent chance to make them contenders if Monk and the other role players came through. And while I think their chances of advancing are long, I have seen them play some very good basketball for stretches within games.

On the whole, they look disjointed, uninspired and old but for a series, they could be a problem. They aren't winning it all even if Davis gets healthy but that doesn't mean they couldn't knock off a better team.

I feel the opposite. They can’t string together much of anything, they won’t have home court, won’t have the opportunity to make mistakes throughout a series. Even last year they were healthier, younger and had a better cast and still lost to a cp3-less suns for part of the series.

I don't think that's really the opposite of what I'm saying. Like I said, I think advancing is a long shot for them, I just wouldn't rule it out especially since, as a likely first round matchup for them, and until we see otherwise, we have to consider the possibility we'll be without Paul (or without Paul at full speed) as the playoffs start.

The Pelicans have won three games in a row including their win at Phoenix. Now they have a 30+ point lead on Utah.

McCollum has made a huge difference for that team. If Paul isnt 100% and they end up the 8 seed they could be a tough out for an 8 seed.

Pelicans are a different team with McCollum. Now they are big and can shoot as well.

It’s so funny watching the Pels, they run all our same plays lol. Props to Willie Green for changing the culture in N.O. If Zion ever decided to get his body right, the Pels could be a team that could possibly win a series.

If they are healthy I don’t think any of those teams - other than blazers - are a walk over opponent.

Exactly. If Zion returns to form (or even near it) and can stay healthy, with McCollum the Pelicans are for real.

The league is REALLY well balanced for the first time in what seems like forever. The East has 3 or 4 teams I can see winning it all. Same for the West and they both of have pretty solid depth with legit solid teams all the way down to the 7 and 8 seeds.

Williams is cleared to do basketball activities. At what level? Probably very low.

the whole 30 minute Laker-Warrior pre-game on ABC was all about the Lakers and mainly a public rip on Westbrook with few mentions of the Warriors. Westbrook has been at the top of my rip list for over a decade but he didn't deserve that kind of focus with superstars King James and A. Davis not getting it done. Sure, James still has great stats, but, obviously, he's not making his team better or inspiring anyone.

Westbrook completely sucks and may be the worst trade of all time, but I would agree he is getting too much blame.

the rest of the lakers suck nearly as much.

Good lord the lakers suck, stupid turnover after stupid turnover.
