Bol Bol is a really interesting player.
Kinda wondering why his dad was 7' 6" or 7' 7" depending on who measured, but Bol Bol is just 7' 2". If we could turn him into half the shot blocker his father was, that would be amazing!

do you hear yourself? "Just 7-2"?

What is amazing is his speed and mobility as well as his skill set for a 7-2 player. Just take a look at some of his highlights.

Arvidas Sabonis is 7' 3" while his son Damonis is only 7'1". Aren't kids supposed to be bigger than their parents? I am taller than my dad. My kids are taller than me! What's with these NBA "midget" kids! :) Shouldn't Bol Bol be 7'8"?

Hard to find a wife that doesn't introduce "shorter" genes.

Are there considerable injury concerns with Bol? Otherwise I thought he probably would have been a top 10 draft pick like a poor man's Wemby.

I've been saying forever I think the NBA should just stop trying to call charges for off ball defenders. If we were to go back and analyze each one in slow motion I'm guessing 75% of them the player is either late or flat out still moving into position. So it's almost never called correctly, there's a risk of injury, and it takes away sometimes the most exciting plays in the game. Why are we even doing this?

Back to the flopping rule… NBA TV did a piece on it today and almost all of the examples they gave we're with players that don't even play anymore. Like I said, this is 10 years late and completely unnecessary. They should focus on:

Obvious offensive fouls
Carrying
Moving screens

Is she about 2 feet shorter than you or roughly 2/3 of your height?
Well I have posted before my theory on height. Those smaller than me are midgets. Anyone taller is a giant. Same exact height as me, is perfect!

The Pelicans are waiving Garrett Temple.

Sources: The New Orleans Pelicans are waiving Garrett Temple, @hoopshype has learned. Temple’s $5.4 million salary for the 2023-24 season would’ve been fully guaranteed by July 7 if he remained on the roster.

I heard the Suns might be interested but who knows. If Frank Vogel thought he could turn Bol Bol into a rim defender then it might make some sense.
I read that the Pistons have first dibs, but I don’t how the process works. I don’t know if Detroit has the necessary cap room. Despite the injury concerns, Bol would be an intriguing Sun, for sure.

The last I heard, Bol Bol could be claimed off waivers. His salary is only like $2.2 million. The Suns would have to clear a spot.

Waiver wire claims go worst to first in order of record. I can't recall how ties are broken but so rarely do players get picked up off waiver wire claims it's not much of an issue.

Seriously, Bol Bol sucks though. Not sure why so many are interested in him. He's a terrible chucker who is not a defensive presence.

The Mavericks are nearing a sign and trade for Grant Williams from the Celtics. Ugh.

The Dallas Mavericks are nearing a 4-year, $53 million sign-and-trade deal with Boston Celtics restricted free agent Grant Williams, league sources confirm. Deal is fully guaranteed for Williams with no options. WME Sports agents Bill Duffy and Erik Kabe negotiated the contract.

I'm fine with the Mavs getting Grant Williams. He is remarkably unproductive. Averages 6 points and 3.5 minutes in 21 minutes per game in his career. If you're going to be that absent in the box score then you need to be a monster on defense and he isn't, he's good but not a great there either.

He's also got Channing Frye syndrome, solid shooter but afraid to shoot.

Dallas has a terrible front office.

I like Eubanks a lot better. He did have moments in the playoffs. It actually hurts Celts more than helps Mavs, I think. And the Celts were wanting to move him.

The Smart trade hurt the Celtics much more than this and they may still come out ahead as they cleared salary. They have a more traditional starting 5 now in Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Porzingis, and Robert Williams. They have Brogdan, Horford, and need a wing off the bench but they'll find someone, I'm sure. I may be forgetting a move they made but they'll need some injury luck and they could be solid.

Matisse Thybulle reportedly will sign an offer sheet with the Mavericks.

Portland Trail Blazers RFA Matisse Thybulle intends to sign an offer sheet with the Dallas Mavericks, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport. pic.twitter.com/Zbhl2Za55o
Portland is matching that offer sheet, so no Thybulle for Dallas. Mavs continue to have not significantly improved this off-season, while most of the competition in the west has. Boo hoo for them.

Yeah, I'm not sure why the Mavericks thought Portland wouldn't for that amount, although it has some kickers.

Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes

Matisse Thybulle’s new three-year, $33 million deal that Portland matched contains a 15 percent trade kicker, a player option, and 50 percent of annual salary must be paid by Oct. 1, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.
