I like Zappe. Shocked by this. I thought he looked very good in his starts last year.

Much better (or at least more upside) than Blough or Driskell.

Only reason Zappe got cut is because he is not a top 10 draft pick!

I think him is better than Dobbs, but I don't believe Monti has the gut to claim Zappe and release Dobbs after just traded away a 5th rounder for him, which makes that trade even worse.

As a former Sun Devil, I was so high on him. I watched him playing for three years in the stadium and knew he was not at all polished entering the draft, but too bad he couldn't learn to run a route to save his career.

Dobbs flipped to Tennesee from ASU on the national signing day. Out of curiosity, I kept tracking his play and career. I don't think he is good at all. Zappe is not athletic, but I do believe he is a better QB than Dobbs (and also younger).

Apparently, they're stacked at WR. That's what I keep reading anyway. Still, though, he should have been able to hang on and contribute somewhere.

While I wouldn't be surprised if we pick him up or try to, but he doesn't seem to fit the Kyler, Tune, Dobbs type of QB. We'll know in a day or two.

Exactly why we wouldn’t be interested in Zappe, as he doesn’t fit our offense. Dobbs has the athleticism to use his legs as an added weapon & that is a prerequisite in Petzing’s offense.

Anyway you look at it, Dobbs is a significantly better fit in this offense. And he‘s already familiar with it too.
