Yesterday it was Rozier and filler. barf

The vast majority of these trade proposals have either been awful or completely unrealistic. I can't wait for the CP3 deadline to come and go. That will take at least one major speculation topic of the table for the talking heads.

To say some of the roster proposals were awful is an understatement. In one scenario, he Patrrick Beverley starting.

Frank Vogel is close to adding two more assistants: Greg St. Jean and Quinton Crawford.

Jarrett Jack will likely go to Detroit.

Awful or realistic?

Because to me unfortunately those are probably realistic

Honestly that Tobias Harris one isn't totally awful.

He’s always intrigued me, but seems to maybe be like Ayton. Stats withoit a lot of impact.

His trade proposals have been awful. I haven't seen any proposals today.

However, just about anything for Paul and Shamet should be an improvement although it has to be weighed against the larger MLE.

I’d take Tobias Harris in a heart beat for Chris Paul

Russel would be the better choice over Harris. Dlo has better 3pt percentage, does just as much at a lower cost at 30M. Shows up from time to time in the playoffs, Harris not so much for 40M.

I’d take DLO to.

I think an attitude shift from Paul is just as important as a talent one.

Getting anything of value for Chris Paul and Landry Shamet is a good thing but the Suns will need to find a starting point guard somewhere. D'Angelo Russell is looking better and better.

I am not a fan of Russell.

I think I'd rather roll another year with Paul than bring him in. Russell is extremely injury prone, he makes Paul look durable, and he has been putrid in the playoffs during his career.

So if the Suns roll with Paul and decide to keep Ayton, they better find a better way to fill out their roster than last season after the trade deadline.

Minnesota might be dumb enough to swap KAT for Ayton but they have no need for a Center with Gobert locked in.

KAT is a bum.

You guys get frustrated by Ayton? Ya'll would wanna kill KAT. Most overrated player in the league, by a wide margin.

We don't need another ball dominant player. We need guys who can do things without the ball in their hands and play defense. KAT is the antithesis of that.

A swap of Ayton for KAT, even straight up, would make us significantly worse.

I think you're ovrrating Ayton. If the trade was a straight swap then I think we'd win that deal. KAT would be a solid 3rd option and I believe Booker could get him more engaged defensively. When KAT is playing defense he's adequate. Ayton is adequate at best now. He's not a good defender or rebounder and isn't a consistent scoring option. KAT misses too many game for us to trade for him as it would cost more than Ayton unless we roped a third team in but KAT is better than Ayton at virtually everything.

They were drafted at the same age. This is comparing their 4th and 5th season. Ayton only leads in FG% and games played. KAT is the better scorer, rebounder, shot blocker, and gets to the FT line more. Look at the box plus minus and the lead KAT has over Ayton.

KAT's defensive rating is the same as Ayton as well, a 109 per 100 possessions. Ayton has an offensive rating of 121 to KAT's 119, which is likely due to the teammates Ayton has had on the floor with him. His defensive box +/- is twice Ayton's and so is his VORP. His offensive +/- is over 3 times what Ayton's was. So really I don't see how Ayton is better when every statistical category is in Town's favor except FG%, which isn't that far off especially considering the 3's he attempts.

Here's the link to the comparison, if anyone wants to see for themselves beyond what the above image has.

You're comparing Ayton, who's role has been the 4th option on offense, to KAT from years ago, on a team where he got to chuck all day and hunt stats... they also lost a ton.

I think you're underestimating just how terrible KAT is on defense. He also shrinks in big moments, the dude is the king of front runners in the NBA. He is as moody as they get and opposing players easily take him out of his game.

IMO, he's the current generation's Demarcus Cousins... now, I know a lot of people would think "great!" but Cousins was also a player who teams found it was reeeeeeally hard to win with him if he was playing a meaningful role. He's just kinda stupid, he doesn't take the game or himself seriously and has added basically nothing to his game in years.

Check out KAT's stats from last year. He stunk. He doesn't rebound anymore, he can't defend a chair... basically his only "plus" ability as a big is his three point shooting and last year he wasn't even all that great from 3.

KAT is empty stats defined.

Ayton is frustrating but he is a much better defender and doesn't need the offense to be built for him.

Towns would bring us his usual trash defending, his (at this stage of his career) sub par boarding, he wouldn't set screens, he wouldn't move off the ball... he'd basically just be there to provide a significantly less efficient option than Booker or KD when we feel like letting yet another guy play hero ball.

In summary... I would haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate it if we brought Towns in. He is a flat out loser.

Thankfully this would never happen, as an Ayton and Gobert combo make even less sense than the KAT pairing did.

There is the king of front running losers proclaiming that winning a play in game was more impressive than winning the NBA title.

On this same podcast he claims that people are going to remember him as a guy that changed the NBA.

We mock the "DominAYTON" silliness... Towns takes the lack of self awareness to a whole new level.

Also worth noting, in that play in game Towns shot 3-11, had 5 boards and 4 turnovers, Minnesota only managed to comeback and win that game after Towns fouled himself out with 8 minutes to go.

Then send CP3 there with Ayton. A starting 5 of Murray, Booker, KD, Collins, and Capela is a contender. We fill out the bench the best we can and get rolling.

This is what i have been saying about Capela for over a year - if we can get a PG with in Murray would be even better

KAT can be goofy/annoying BUT he actually plays like he cares unlike DA. Im pretty sure that Book/KD can fix his tude
