If we keep Ayton, in theory you have 4 solid guys that start. So you only need 4 more guys, in theory, to round out your playoff squad. Can we raise the level of talent with vet min guys and our draftee, to raise the bar over us signing returning players from last year? That will be the question. We supposedly are the number one landing spot for those guys according to Gambo from his calls to his sources around the league.
Yeah, at this point you're looking for wings that can hit 3's and play D. If you get Craig/Okogie back, along with Biz and Jock, you're really only looking for a couple guys.

Vogel turning Ayton into a player is our best hope.

Cue the Obi Wan (Vogel) your our only hope meme.

I saw a few click bait.. kyrie sign and trade for ayton.. please tell me this is not possible in our multiverse..
It's theoretically possible, but it would be really stupid, because we don't need another starting guard or another big time scorer.

I give that .000001 % chance of happening.

On the plus side, he could help build the immunities of all our guys from Covid, so we would be good during the playoffs....

Yes- we already have a ton of injury risk in Book/KD/Beal. Can't be trading Ayton for injury risks.
The way I am looking at it, is we just have to make the playoffs, and then we can bench - maybe even should bench all of our stars. Health really only matters for the playoffs.

We also have a lot of risk with Ayton not being happy with no offensive role and just dogging it on both ends of the floor.

Yeah, we tried that or versions of that, and it didn't work too great. That said, taking the "it's a marathon not a sprint" seems to be wise. Low seeding doesn't seem to be as big a deal as before.

I rarely worry about his offensive role - he's incredibly efficient and barely gets plays called for him. As for dogging it on both ends of the floor, it's always a possibility with Ayton.

Sanogo makes the most sense. Seems to have the most useful skill set of those 3 for us. Though I don't know a whole lot about all of them.

Looks like he has already signed with the Bulls.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a player with a mustache like Timme?

Looks like has signed with the Bucks.

Sanago signed with the Bulls but yeah, he would have been my first choice. Tshiebwe I am not big on. Watched him a bit. He plays below the rim and forces a ton of plays.

I wonder what the reaction would be on this board and the national media lol.

That would be the ultimate all in big 4 super team move. Everyone would be rooting for it to fail.

Ayton for Nic Claxton and Cam Johnson (sign and trade). Can that work?

I have heard that a sign and trade player can't be packaged with other players, but not completely sure.

We are not allowed to take part in sign and trades (either going out or coming our way) while over the 2nd apron.

And this is why I run stuff I see by you guys i stead of clicking on that click bait crap.

Thanks

Bruce Brown opting out is a pretty significant development for Denver. I imagine he's in line for $15-20m, MLE money at the minimum which is about $12m.

If Denver gives him MLE money they'll have the same amount of money tied up in their top 6 as we do with our top 4. Which is why it's important that the Suns break up Ayton's contract into 2-3 players.

Did I read that once a team hits the second apron, they can no longer combine players in trades? Trades must be one for one. If that is the case that may put additional pressure on the Suns to get an Ayton trade done before those rules go into effect.

Multiple players from other teams can be traded for Ayton, but Ayton and other Suns players can not be traded in combination is the restriction. Also the players we are trading for can't be paid a cent more than Ayton.
